TOPPING: DID I TOP THIS RIGHT? see pics....

so this plant was growing a lot taller than all of the rest so while i was prunnin a few clones i topped this plant and am going to clone the top and a few of its branches...here are the pics.

No you didnt do it right! you should of cut as close to the nodes as possible. it should kind of look like a top of a palm tree does after you cut it.

no dont cut it again, it will be fine,,,,wait for 2-4 colas to appear. The growth has to spread somewhere....It will live and be ok....but no you should cut just above the 5th true node for 4 or more main colas...

oops i already cut it down right above that node in the pic, i figured this is where the growth comes from mine as well cut it down close to it or i would have all that bare stem to deal with...am i ok?

should be. your new tops are gonna grow from in between the stem and the fan leaf there....usually the node under will grow 2 tops too so youll have 4....

every single thread speaks of a different place to top it, some say up on the plant, some say down, in the end i think i could of cut the damn thing anywhere....let me know if this is ok...

thanks, if i had left my stem that tall and not cut it down would i have just had a tall stem or would the stem start to show growth over time?

so after you cut off the top,,what do you do with the hole in the top of the stem...do you plug it somehow,,or leave the hole wide open..

my pic is off a 5ft plant and the hole there is like a foot down from the top of the plant... not sure its the only plant i noticed the hole.

What happens when you top directly above a node is that the highest branches, directly below where you cut, become their own main stems which will turn into colas.
