I plan on topping some of my ladies tomorrow. I was wondering if i can root gel the tops that i cut off and if i can put them in the humidity dome and they grow roots, as clones? I think I probably can, this is my first grow and first time topping! thanks.

why don't you? My girls are grown from clones, so it will be cloning clones that I know are females. Is there a bad part about cloning the tops?

No nothing wrong with it, I just normally go for side branches, I also don't top as I would like one really big cola. Some of my clones are pre-topped though, I don't mind it.

oh, gotcha. Its my first grow alone. So I figured I would try it out on some of them, plus I am ready to get a hand in cloning and could use some to keep a cycle fluent. I figure everyone has there opinions about it, but you got to learn first hand. I appreciate the input, this site and the people here have been helpful.

Yes you can, no I don't either. I don't because you have to take a lot more of the top of the plant to clone the top than you do if you just want to top the plant. I don't like having to cut three or more inches off the top of my plants to get a clone when I can use a low side branch that I would probably have just pruned off anyway.
