Glad you got a good xmas present. I got two last night. Two of my bagseed sativas turned out females. It only took 49 days and 10 of that under 12/12 I also learned one of my uncertains was a female today as well. Good xmas all around.

What breeder is your NL from? Theres so many varieties of it, and some probably wouldn't be best suited for a sog.

Im going to grow out some Mandala strains for my next grow, and try and find a good pheno for sog. They're all f1's, so finding a good pheno shouldn't be too much trouble. You should join me in doing so They're seeds are also affordable, but also good quality.

I got my NL from marijuana-seeds.nl. I think it's a 5. Dunno. But yeah I checked out that site they seem to have some good strains. I like the hashberry. So many opportunities though. So for a SOG would you buy 40-50 seeds or would you grow a mom and take cuttings? I'm down to join in on the fun just need to know what I'm getting myself into lol.

I use a 400w hps I'm wondering how many plants I can get under that thing in a SOG. The max grow area for my light is about 4x4, that's how I have it now each of the trays are 2x1. I could probably fit at least 50 plants in there in a SOG.

Id buy ten seeds, and try and find a suitable mom from them. You definitely wouldn't want to try and sog with alot of seeds from Mandala. All their seeds are F-1's, so you will end up with a few different pheno-types. If you end up with a pheno-type like the one in the pictures, you'd have no problem fitting alot of plants in your space. I can fit 15 one gallon fabric bags into 5 square feet(my tent). Dimensions of 36"x20". You should be able to do 45 bags.

yeah delaner the female I would def start cloning her if your going to do a SOG that sounds great I think this will be a nice start grow then you keep learning from the clones. Hey try to get that plywood and paint it white or mylar to get some reflection in the grow area cuz light is going everywhere instead on reflecting back to the baby girl, I think thats pretty important if possible but if funds aint right, got to do what you got to do. Thanks don2009 great to have you on board. I will be trying to get to the depot to pick up some reflective material. I have identified another male plant so now I have two left, one female and one unknown. We'll see not sure exactly what to do. If there's two females I'm ready to grow them both out fully. If only one I will use her as a mother and clone her out for a sog. The one female I have now is in great shape and a good specimen. So we'll see what happens the other unknown should be showing signs of sex pretty soon, tomorrow or the next day. I will post some more pics tonight.

As promised here's pics of my first female. She's pretty healthy so she may be used for clones. The other plant is unknown at this point.

Alright so I changed up a couple things in the grow room. I put up some plywood around the sides of the room and put up insulating reflector all around. I also added a space heater it was getting a little cold in there, I thought it might be slowing growth. Good news I think the unknown is a female so that's two females, woohoo. Two out of four is great news.

The reflective material makes a huge difference I noticed a lot more light on the plants now, plus it insulates. It's expensive stuff but I decided it's worth it. So the ladies have nothing to complain about quality of life just got much better.

" Thats how it is, you kinda get hooked to being a pro. im a newbie and I have had good results so far using aeroponics. Shit i just took a monster hit! Back on track so yeah do it right and dont waste time. Time is money!! I myself just got a 400 watt switchable HPS/MH for 160$$$ on craigslist. It is all about learning about what is cost effective. Bigger is not always better. My bigger light cost more per month and might have caused heat stress to the tops of new leaves. A 70 watt MH outdoor light was perfect for vegging in a small area. maybe 4-6 sq ft beatiful fan leaves! No deformaties. I would go to lowes and convert a cheap HID. They also sell grounded cords that you can attach so ballast the right way instead of bypassing the ground wich i did. All together with your florescents will be alot better trust me especially if you move to an enclosed area. wit the amount of plants you got. Supercroping has helped me growing aeroponicaly. I hope this dosent seem like braggin cause a jerk on another thread thought I was someone who created a new file to defend myself against a yellow looking plant someone in my area had. The nerve. good karma goes along way just dont get overwhelmed if you also work fulltime. Make money legit and work extra harder but smarter on the side. Thats why I cant agree more withe the quote!

10 days since signs of sex, buds developing everywhere.

I topped for four main colas and that's exactly what's happening. Four main colas on eash plant with many budsites all over. Looks like it payed off to veg a little longer. For those who haven't read the entire thread I vegged these plants for about 10 weeks. The were about 20" when I started flower, right now they are around 25". They stretched some the first few days of flower.

As you can see though they are developing quite nice. Lots of white pistols, at least 20 at each bud site. Been feeding them a tspn of maxi bloom and a tspn of miracle grow with each gallon of water. That gives them the phosphorous they need for flower plus nitrogen for growth. No problems yet, don't expect any as I am going by the book on the doses of nutes.

Good job man im impressed toping them then let them grow for 10 weeks right on bro you should have a nice yield I notice alot of ppl veg for about 4 weeks then flower I'll do the same as you veg for about 10 weeks. Hey grab some clones from them and keep the cycle gooing just a couple so you wouldnt fuck up the mothers yield. What do you think or whatcha doing? Good Luck bro +rep

Thanks I'm working on a cloning solution right now I just don't know exactly what I'm going to do yet. I want to take four small clones, gotta set up my flourescent lights again and get some cloning gel. I want to do it in a small tent prolly will end up making one. Keep an eye out should be up in a week or so.

Just read through your grow and sounds like you worked lots of problems out and learned lots in the process. I would love to get some good old NL #5 to grow out instead of all of these crazy crosses out today. I dont really post on here but wanted to give you props for putting yourself in a position to be successful. Good luck with the rest of the grow.

Thanks mcrider +rep for stopping by the grow. I plan to get some pics up tonight to show the progress they are coming along beautifully which is great. Today is start of 3rd week in flower, they are set to harvest Feb. 26 +/- a day or so. That will be the end of what is said to be a 9 week flower for the NL #5. So they have six more weeks to fatten up and fill out. Looking forward to seeing them get huge. You will see in the pictures tonight, there are four distinct colas developing nicely on each plant, and since I vegged for 9 weeks I am expecting to see some huge colas on each plant. Already the colas are about 7-8 inches tall each. Should be fun to watch them go.

Lights go on at 5:30 pst so I will put pictures up soon after that.

Ok so here's a pic update.

I'll put up more in about a month but for now they are doing pretty well. I water with nutrients every other day, then pure water on the in between days. I put my tape measure in there to show the size of the colas which are huge.

Anyone want to guess weight?? Won't know until end of Feb. but it's never too early to take a guess. That should make tihngs a little more exciting.

Hey guys sorry no update there for a while been busy busy busy. So here is my medical garden almost finished up. The one on the left is 4-5 days away and on the right IDK maybe a week to 10 days. The flowers are still growing every night so I intend on leaving it. The one on the left is basically done I am just flushing it now and letting it harden up. The buds have been solid on that one for about a week now. Still growing a little but not much. So eventually it's time to cut them down and about a week away from that on one of them. Final weight will be interesting. I am definitely going to top for four colas again it was a great idea and they are looking awesome. So ya good luck to everyone on their grows and thanks to all the advice from fellow RIUers. Later y'all.

So the final weigh in, roughly, was about 6 ounces. That was just the two plants. See the pic attached, and I'll put up a link to my new journal when it's up.

Smoke is great. High is relieving stimulates my appetite and helps me sleep. I'd say it's a miracle. And of equal importance but different is it helped my BM from infrequent and inconsistent to normal and regular. And I can't say how great that is!

Tune in for round two everyone. I have 10 Super Silver Haze seedlings about 10 days old. Germination started on March 5, all seeds are feminized, but you'll have to check out the blog to see what happens, and of course pictures.
