I have two northern lights plants growing in 3 gallon fabric pots of Coco. I am wondering what the best option for training would be. Does genetics play a role in how you guys choose to train your plants?
I have read that generally topping and then lst is often best, but it seems like such a bushy strain and the lower parts of the plant are really starting to fill in with a lot of branches already so i am wondering if I would see the full benefits of topping or if it would be better to only lst so they don't have to waste the time/energy recovering. I'm thinking that topping might help with light penetration though and I would like to take cuttings for clones eventually so promoting growth of more branches would be beneficial. They are in a 2X3 cabinet 6ft tall, so they have room to grow both up and out.
This is my first grow so I'm a little hesitant to make any more cuts than necessary, but I would if it will greatly improve yields.
