Top of grow tent.

Okay I know this is a crazy question haha but if you needed more room for your light to go up could you cut top of tent off to hang the lights from the ceiling or would that be a bad idea.. Lol

Maybe I should just tie the damn things down if the get to be too tall huh

Thats a good idea, but will allow smell and heat to escape the tent...?

You could do that but why to cut your tent ? Bend them or top them.. .Much easier.Have you read Uncle Ben's topping technic?

You could do that if your ok with ruining your tent and its purpose. Best thing to do is just grow plants the right size for your tent. Your roughly going to know how tall a plant tops out at by its strain so 2 minutes of thinking and planning you wont even come across this problem.

Yeah I topped them, only once though and I really don't wanna cut it lol so does it matter what size pot you grow in? I'm growing in five gallon right now if I cut down to three gallon will that affect how tall they get. I'm thinking I should just lst next time.

Where did you top ? At which node ? You can always tight her down anytime.Pot size does matter.Larger root mass supports larger plant structure.Although you can reduce your veg time.Topping is not harmful mate.And you can always clone the cut.Don't overthink it

Sometimes you got to do what you got to do.

I cut 2 half inch slits..sealed the outside with gorilla tape and the inside with aluminum tape. Now I can get my hood up flush with the roof of the tent giving me about 11 inches more height.
I'm about to replace those ratchets pulleys with a couple quick links.

Well I'm in flowering now so I'm sure I can't top again right. And here's my grow I only have 4 to 5 inches of raising the light to go.... I topped at fourth node I do believe

I'm thinking about just hanging down through the two port holes I have in top of tent.

I found out too late that my room will not handle 2 1000 watt hoods. So I opted to use that massive raptor. I didn't trust my tent to hold up all the weight so.... thru the top it went.
