Hey everyone,

The title says it all. I have torn my labrum pretty severly (tendon/muscle in the shoulder) & it causes me severe pain when doing nothing. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to any strains that Truely help pain? Bubba kush works really well for me, but the only good bubba with actual medical benefits that I have found is in denver & that's an unrealistic drive for me right now. Does anybody have any suggestions as to strains & any good places around the springs area that has quality medecine with actual medicinal effects? The healing canna has pure kush which I have found to be very effective.

i really appriceate any help &/or suggestions.

Get some hash or oil....

Pot in it's flower form is suitable for low pain levels, however concentrates are much more effective for severe pain.

I speak from experience, I suffer with a degenerative joint disease that turns my body into solid bones starting at the spine and spreading up and out from the SI joints.(which are fused at level 4 (permanent fusion)) parenthesis in parenthesis...yup, I just did that...lol

I'm due for a double hip replacement at the beginning of the year and I'm in my early 30s (kinda, maybe mid..haha)
Honestly my hips were shot long ago...the surgery is way over due..

Anywho, sorry....get carried away sometimes after dabs and coffee ..

I also suggest making a trip to Natural Mystic on Colorado Blvd..
She doesn't open til 11, but tell her your story....

Explain that you were told concentrates may help your pain, she will help you pick out something.

My suggestion...

Start out with some of their Essential Extract line..
The finest Bubble Hash in our city (possibly the state)

You really want either 73 or 90 micron as it's the best quality, but if your tolerance levels are used to flower treatment, you should be fine with almost any grade of Essential Extract Hash.

*Nothing over 160 micron though* unless you wanna add to an edible.

They also carry Tora Bora oil, golden honey that will relieve pain, but a fucking marketing scheme IMO.
it's over 100$ per gram!!
However, I will validate it's effectiveness, but... 100$ bucks per gram is unethical practice in my book.
Again, it's AMAZING medicine, a dose the size of grain of rice under your tongue will work for pain...

If you happen to get some of the Tora flower....

Smoke Tora Bora before smoking a high THC strain or hash, as it will increase medicinal effect.

However, utilizing a high CBD content after engaging in some hash or a stronger THC content, high CBD will take away the effects of high THC.

Sufficient CBD levels , along with CBN balance the ” high” we receive from marihuana, if it were not for these cannabinoids, THC would be similar to a hallucinatory substance.

First off, thank you all very much for your help!! Is there a good place to get bubba In the springs? I've found good places in denver but not the springs so far. I actually got some tora bora a couple months ago which was a great strain for pain! I just couldn't think of the name of the place that carried it unfortunately. Thank you for reminding me!! Sounds like some tora bora concentrates would be perfect.

Su, that is crazy that you have a torn labrum as well. Is it a bankart or slap tear?

sirdabsalot, thank ou so much for the informative post. I'm sorry that you have to live with that, it sounds very painful? Sounds like you have tons of experience dealing with pain! I'm sure I will refer to your post often as a guide. Thank you once again. I am going to go up there as soon as possible to visit natural mystic + pinkhouse & possibly somewhere else if anyone knows where to get good bubba in the springs?

Dabs said it ;-). Concentrates are the way to go. You might also try high potency topical(expensive for the good ones) but works wonders on my shoulder muscle pain when combined with regular medicating.

Also edibles or tincture in the morning(I like bho chocolates(easy to make, decarb yourself and you can dial in THC/CBN effects. This works good to give you a "time release" effect. https://www.rollitup.org/cooking-cannabis/768530-companion-cube-peanut-butter-bho.html

I like to dose CBD first as well. Right now I have some pre '98 bubba from the clinic, Something like 18%cbd/15%thc. I also like the shark shock I get from tgs. Its like 9%cbd/15%thc. I'll smoke a joint of this in the morning before dabbing on some super flavorful budder. I've found with concentrates, the more smell and taste they have, the better the medicated effect.

And thanks btw dude, I've been looking for top notch bubble, with limited success. I did get some 70m at Trill Alternatives in Boulder, they call it peanut butter hash. It's the best solvent-less I've seen ever. Looks like dis: http://www.hightimes.com/read/wax-making-solventless-hash-nikka-t-way

Dabs are very good for "break thru pain". I kinda look at it like pain pills. You have the 80m time release you take in the am. Then you have the 20m instant you take when pain acts up.

Thanks ill have to try that at pinkhouse if they have it when I go up there. Would you happen to have any topicals to recommend? I have tried Mary Janes alcohol based solution & normal topical. Normal topical seemed to work wonders! Alcohol based didn't seem to do to much. I also bought an alcohol based solution made by Dixie elixir. I didn't have very good results with that either. You are really lucky to live up north by all the really good shops. The clinic has some of the best meds I personally have found. I really wanted to try their peanut butter hash but have never made the trip to boulder. How is boulders flowers overall compared to Denver's? It looks considerably cheaper on weedmaps. I really appreciate all the help! Also on a side note, your blueberry grow looks great! Did you get the genetics up there or online somewhere?

Hey thanks, they were clones I got from TGS in Northglenn.

I cant speak to boulder all that much, I want to try around there more but don't get out much, lol. Trill and Dandelion both have had very good flower, decent bho, and Trill had the peanutbutter, I cant remember who made it tho.

In Denver, I'm still exploring but my fav for bho is The Clinic. They always have good flower and really high cbd strains too. Pinkhouse, RiverRock, and Kind Love are all really good for flower and good bho.

I have read great things about sour tsunami, can't wait to try it out!! Is that tora bora in the picture? Looks amazing! I've onlyHad once & can't wait til I run out of meds to go get more!! Although I'm pretty stocked up now :/Algore, thank you for the info. I have been looking for a place to get good blueberry & flo clones. Since I'm 3.5 hours from denver it sort of hit n miss for me; I'm not really able to explore the stores there too often, although based on their product I would imagine denver & boulder have the best genetics for clones. I would agree on the clinics bho the few times I've tried it! Just so pricey if your not a member. Then again, seems like most of the better quality places are.

Cus fan, I appreciate the suggestion & will have to give that a try if I can find it. I like your sig by the way!In my experience, good purples also help, but I have yet to find very good purples here with actual medical benefits. Nightshade labs has GDP that is pretty effective, but nothing like I've had from back home. I've been wanting to try the clinics urkle, but seems like they're out everytime I make a trip up there :/

DO you have ankylosing Spondolitis? Sorry to hear it if you do it's fucking lame. I was diagnosed a few years ago incredibly painful but I started making my own BHO to get off all the pain pills I was eating 450 mg a day of Oxy and oxy codone it actually made it worse Hash is the wonder drug helped me kick opiates and helps regulate my pain good luck

I need to say that your (Sirdabsalot462) reply was awesome, it may seem trivial to most people here, but a full helpful post exactly like this one makes a big difference to people. It would be great if even half the world had people like you instead of the smart ass bastards we all have to deal with in this fucked up world.

Yep, that was the Tora Bora back then, but here she is now...... getting so purple almost looks black. Sour Tsunami is a great med, but for taste, the TB blows it away IMO.

I agree 100%. I am so greatful for people like you who are knowledgeable & more than willing to shed some light on us less experienced people. I will use this as a go-to-guide up until my surgery (which I'm trying to put off for as long as possible.Speaking of some of the smart ass bastards.. Some kid I use to know essentially stole $1,200.00 worth of glass for me several years back.. We made up & recently I was dabbing with them. I accidentally knocked over his bubbler & made a slight crack that could easily be fixed by a glass artist. Now he's wanting me to buy him a whole new piece for $150.00... And I never got any of my glass back or money for it. He's one of those spoiled ass kids. He keeps being a smart ass about it to. Man I just want to beat the fuck out of him. Such an ungreatful little snob.Sorry about my rambling, that just reminded me of him & I needed to vent somewhere haha.

Yeah she looks beautiful! That's awesome man. I love the colors on her. Are you a caregiver or is that your meds your growing? I wonder if the flowers will come out purple. As soon as I run out of meds I'm going up to the springs to get some of both. Mineswell try out the sour & see how it works out.Have you ever tried tora bora concentrates? My friend was saying the concentrates from it are very effective & taste amazing.

It depends.
Some weed makes muscle pain and pain in general worse. Especially high THC ones. They can cause apprehension ,nervousness, body stimulation, anxiety, muscle twitching and spasms..exactly what you don't want.
High CBDs could help...you won't get " high" but you will feel better. More relaxed.
Indicas are better then Sativas for pain.
But again it depends...on strain and the grower. Harvest too early..too high THC.

I have found only one or 2 strains that help with pain...a certain Blue Cheese and a BB x NL.
The Blueberry x Northern Lights is all I grow and smoke anymore.

And I suffer from pain. I have a compressed spinal cord and suffer agonizing pain in my lower back and legs. I have had 5 surgeries and a morphine pump implant. I've suffered for more then 20 years. I'm still in pain but I don't notice it that much anymore.

Now a days I take just enough to start weaning off my pills. And with my injuries I can get prescribed almost anything...but I don't want it.

You also might want to think about topical solutions instead of inhaling. I use a homemade topical version myself.

There are just too many variables in weed now a days to nail down one exact strain for pain.
So if you find one...I mean really find a good one ,find a clone of it ASAP and grow it yourself( or caregiver ). That way you will always know what you are getting.
FYI I'm in a wheelchair and can still have a grow room. Only needed help setting it up.
And just growing weed itself is therapeutic.

Just don't go into a dispensary and ask what strain is good for pain...they usually don't know what the hell the are talking about. Check out several dispensaries and ask the same question and see how many different answers you get.
They will usually say high CBDs...but most don't test their weed...so how the hell would they know what the CBD is.

So keep looking and sampling...best to try new weed first stone of the day then pile it on at the end of the day of smoking.

And once you find that one strain...find some way to keep it constantly.

I've only smoke BB X NL for the last 4 years and don't miss any other kind of kind. My friends that come over know they are going to smoke my weed only so they don't even offer anymore.
Besides I grow some awesome weed. Even in a wheelchair.

Good luck

I'm just growing my own meds.... mostly. Btw, the only place that I know that has Sour Tsunami is RiverRock in Denver, I could be wrong though. Yes, the TB oil is powerful meds - Natural Mystic has it made from the nugs, but it'll cost you $100 for a gram.....
