Too Nute or not too Nute?

Am I crazy to attempt a grow using no nutes? The only thing I’m doing is making sure the ph of the water is between 6-6.5. I swear my last attempt it was the nutes that destroyed my plants and I made sure I used minimal amounts. Thanks!

I did not use nutes on my very first grow, ended up with 18 grams.....but I would not recommend it

Depends on soil you use. If it's prefertilized, there are enough nutes to feed your plant for 6-8 weeks.

The bigger the plant, the more nutrition it requires.

For a run with zero added nutrition, you need soil capable of supporting the plant. This means zero stress, zero lst, no topping or Supercropping either.

The plant needs alot of nutritional access to recover from stress or build extra plant matter.

Now you can ignore what I said, LST, supercrop and top and you could do fine....sorta....once you cross your 'too big for the soil' threshold, your plant will die from starvation.

Even in a Super Soil that only requires water, you have to be careful how big you let it get. It probably wouldn't die in a super soil but near the end of the run it would not be a happy baby.

Thanks for the reply’s all! The fact that you said there can’t be any stress and I can’t top, makes me think I will use nutes eventually. I just repotted and will let go for a few weeks without adding anything. So far it’s been the best start of a grow yet. Maybe my nutes went bad or something on the last run.

What Nutes were you using, and what do you plan on using in the future? Is it possible to grow with just plain water.... Yes. Will you be satisfied with the end result.... Probably not. Especially if you are comparing it to everyone else’s grows.

I used fox farm big grow for veg and dynex for bloom. Do you recommend anything else?

I currently use the FF trio myself, but only for my smaller plants. All my big plants are organic. Any particular reason why you don’t use all 3? They work really well together. Not very familiar with dynex.

It was after my last attempt when it seemed like as soon as I started using the big grow everything seemed to die. I made sure I used the minimal amount also. So that just made me wonder if I should be using them. Think I’m just going to buy new nutrients and hope for the best.
what kind of organic nutes do you use? Is it just for flower?

Grow big is for veg. Big bloom and tiger are for flower. If you follow FF feed chart, it says to use grow and big bloom during veg, and then introduce tiger during flower. Those instructions worked for me, and work now, I just don’t use what the bottles recommends. I use slightly less. But as far as organic is concerned, I use roots organics terp tea “ grow “ and “ bloom “.
