Too much Ozone?!?!

I bought a UVonair 3000 when I started my grow.....less than three weeks from harvest and 2 out of 5 of my plants are showing signs of ozone damage on the leaves.....and those two plants are on opposite ends of the room(one by the air intake and one is closest to the exhaust.

Has anyone else had this problem? Do I need to move the ozone generator farther away from my grow?

Hi Pan

It is pretty common, even without an ozone generator for the plants closest to the exhaust fans to exhibit signs of "Wind Burn".

The leaves are brown where the FAN is blowing on them.. correct?

cheers

I really don't know if I have a way of rectifying the problem if its wind burn, my fans don't run that high... But look at this pic and tell me what you think.

It's not recommended to put the ozone generator in the same room with your plants. It is best used to treat the exhausted air. And that uvonaire3000 means that it's used for 3000 square feet of room.

Really good advice potroast, normally you would have your flowering area enclosed running the air out via inline fan to another enclosed area which contains the ozone generator and then out into the room.

The reason for running it like this is you will get plant damage if it comes into contact with the plant, which means you will also get ozone damage if you spend too much time with it, also do not ever feel tempted to look at the bulb for blindness is almost guaranteed.

I suppose I could place the generator in my garage where all my exhausted air goes, but I kind liked the fact that it didn't smell like a damn thing in my grow room. Not to mention all that exhausted air comes from my reflector hood...right on top of those sticky bitches.

I moved the generator to the farthest corner of the room and I'm hoping that helps...it seems like its effect on the plant is minor. I'll do my last two weeks of this grow with the generator, and next time I'll start flowering without it, and turn it on in the garage once it starts to smell.

High concentrations of O2 doesn't do anything to cars?(paint, leather, etc) does it?

GK: No, thats the thing, no nute burn at all. I keep the nutes at about 10-15% less than full strength. I only burned one, waaay back in veg.

I wouldn't doubt that. I don't ppm my res(i drain and refill and add nutes everytime), and I stopped ph-ing after my last grow's ph was perfect every time. I was standing in there this morning, and I decided I'll move the ozone generator to the garage today, and cross my fingers none of the new leaves look like that.
