Too Big?

Whats up RIU. Ok, so i might have let my plants veg to long. This is my first grow so wasn't sure. Kinda just let the plants do their own thing. Anyways, they were in veg for 6 1/2 weeks. I switched from 20/4 to 12/12 about 9 days ago. I have 2 plants in 5 gal buckets in a 4x4 tent with 600w hps. I feel that I'm going to run out of room. Take a look and tell me what you think. Since pic was taken, I made some hooks and raised the light another 3-4 inches. Also, i ordered some 1 1/2 uniseals and some 1 1/2in black abs pipe to make a 3 bucket rdwc. I am not sure how I thought i was going to feed them in a few weeks. Also, will a small 130 gph pump be sufficient to top-feed (waterfall effect) the two buckets? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks.:joint:

You might try some advanced techniques that could help with your height issue. I am not as far as you so I won't blindly recommend anything to you. I will say your plants are too tall for that setup and I believe most techniques such as "scrog" need to be done in a veg stage.

Good News: Great looking plants. Bad News: they are way too tall for that. Try to tie the tops down which will help open plant up a bit too.

Trim them from the top so they are at least 10cm away from the lights but dw because they will stretch and reach out for the light so there is no damage done.

Hey guys. Thanks for the replies. Ya, i figured they were way to tall. I am going to try the scrog my next go around. As for trimming, do I just cut the tops that are close to the light. For instance, the one on the left is about 5 inches from the light, do I just cut the top about 5 inches or so which will give me almost a foot between the pant and light? They are in early stages of flower so i don't wanna go chopping away, especially without any experience and not quite sure what I am doing, lol. Also, how much more will they grow in height if there's about 6-7 weeks of flower left? Thanks again!

Thanks for the info guys. Think i am going to try the super cropping method. I am a bit confused though. Wouldn't the plant just heal and stand back up or would more tops form?

No. When you super crop the tops, pinch the stalk until you feel it crush in your fingers, (so it doesn't snap)
then bend it sideways. The plant will grow 'sideways' as the main bud you bend is horizontal, the new growth will
grow vertically towards the light.
