It's def better than the mumble rap/trap shit out there, but it just seems like an expression of millennial angst to find meaning, and a struggle against excessive drug use. Eminem kind of perfected that over the last few decades. Imo, It is nothing compared to artists like Kendrick, J Cole, or even Joyner, all who have much deeper and realer shit to say (racism, freedom, war, religion, philosophy, the music industry, etc..) And the auto tune... holy fuck is that shit awful. They are probably on that tip to attract this new generation, but it feels like selling out to me, appealing to the lowest common denominator. The other artists I mentioned steer clear of that and still manage to get the recognition they deserve. Thanks for turning me on to these guys, but judging from this brief introduction, it's just not for me...
