Tolerance Math?

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has links to marijuana tolerance science? Has anyone done research into how quickly people lose tolerance and how quickly it builds up?

Ex: Back in the day I used .2gs in a Iolite I-inhale vaporizer once each night. For awhile I went without going more than 24 hours without any (and I never took extra). After awhile, maybe a few months, I took a week long break and after awhile again I took a month long break. Neither seemed to have any effect on tolerance for me (didn't seem to have a stronger effect once I tried it after the break). Which made me think that my brain was able to recover from at least .2gs of marijuana in 24 hours, and that thus taking a break was pointless when I was using so little.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or has links to any good research on tolerance itself.

you got to chill on the thinkin bro. i havent gone a day without smoking in 6 years and have no tolerance issues.of course ive never had to weigh out .2gs of anything lol

I didn't measure it out by weight each time. What I did was use a standard 3 chamber grinder, take the Iolite/i-inhale vaporizer mouthpiece chamber thing and suck up as much as could fit in into it from out of the grinder. Which my digital scale always weighed as .2 grams (although it may have been anywhere from .2-.29 probably on the heavier side). This was also about as much as could be stuffed into a stander spoon (without it spilling out or stacking it into a mountain). Once I upgraded to a volcano this was how I measured out how much I put into it once each night (people don't consider that much do they?).

*I try not to ever smoke, maybe occasionally if invited to a camping trip.

Get some strains that have no ceiling.
Tolerance usually applies to what you are currently smoking. Usually after you take 10 hits of something that's it. You got as high as you could get even if you smoke 10 more hits, you won't get any higher. It's referred to as the ceiling.

Say you had some dank ass high end sativa dominant plant. OG Kush for example(not some hybrid rip off), has no ceiling.
You smoke OG Kush until it passes you out. The more you smoke the higher you get.

Not the case for everything. Again, most strains have a ceiling. I think DJ Short has a couple that have no ceiling.

I know DJ Short once inbred a plant so much that instead of getting you high, smoking the plant got you un-high. Actually took your high away. He called it No-High weed.

Edit: Also, if you are worried about tolerance to a strain. Just have an endless supply of different strains to smoke. When you go to get your meds, don't put all your money on black. Buy as much variety as you can for your needs.

Ahh I have never heard of strains/buds having ceilings. I always thought that sort of thing was based on ones tolerance and level of reaction to marijuana (mine must be pretty high because I get by on vapeing 1/4 a gram).

yeah, people build tolerances to strains. Not marijuana in general.
Found that out the hard way. Harvested a few ounces of NYCD and built up a tolerance to NYCD like that ::snap::
Id smoke my friends out and they would be floored by the dankness... But me, having only that strain to smoke, grew heavily tolerant to it.
Forced me to go periods without smoking period. Just to bring my tolerance back down.

I have heard a possible myth about Niacin, an over the counter vitamin supplement. Taken in high quantity (each pill is like 2000% of a 2000 calorie diets daily need of the stuff) it can clean your system and allow you to pass a drug test. Taken moderately once in a while, it can clean your system to the point where your tolerance will go back down. It sounds like its worth a try. Also better than going without medication to increase tolerance.

But again, urban myth. I used Niacin once as an youngster to pass a drug test and yes it worked. So the part about it helping lower your bodies tolerance makes sense. Also there is like 200% of the daily value Niacin in RedBull. Although that shit right there will give you a heart attack.

ok heres the thing with niacin.

its a vitamin b supplement that stimulates your metabolism. since thc is fat soluable that means by taking niacin as a supplement you are speeding the process of burning not needed fats. which is where the myth comes in. people are forgetting with a urination test its only a measure of how much thc is in that cup. so in order to pass a typical urinalsysis you need to pee out untainted water. the best way to do that is just a complete system flush. in order to do that you need to drink water. lots and lots and lots of water. so much water to the point that your urinating every hour. by going to these extremes your passing the water in your system faster than your body can metabolise the thc in your pee. this is the ONLY true way to defeat a urine test. those drinks only slightly mask the urine in your system but if you look at the directions they even say to drink lots of water. this is so that by time you pee for the test your basically peeing out the drink you took.
now by going this method of water it doesnt permenatly clean you out, and the second you slow your water consumption down to normal, your body will have time to re taint the urine but at a slower process for a few hours. after that if your peeing normally every few hours then its already back in your pee.

now the theory with the cranberry juice all that does is help stimulate urination. ie makes you pee more frequent which means more chances to flush. also the vitamins in cranberry juice help tint your pee yellow which if your peeing a few times an hour, your pee is gonna be clear as water. cranberry juice helps bring your pee to a slight yellow tint again.


no im not a scientist but my job description gives me access to lots of pee test kits.

also the avg person does NOT drink the proper amounts of liquid to adequately hydrate their bodies, so when you do this water flush method your body will feel *alive* and you will seem to have extra energy. dont be alarmed, thats what a properly hydrated body is supposed to feel like.

a few self hydration tests:

pinch your finger nails, does it slowly turn back to pink or fast?

pull on your skin loosely, does your skin snap back to itself or does it slowly shapes back in place?

how bright are the white parts of your eyes?

Def good info about hydration...off topic..yet still very appropriate since cottonmouth is one of the bigger side effects of this medicine. I would say as said before, Variety, variety, EVERYTHING in moderation even your favorite strains... But at the point of .2 of a gram per day.... if your not obese then by 24 hours later when you smoke again, you probably wouldn't be any different chemically, which would get you less high...Put it this way-I used to smoke about an ounce a week of some kind weed right after my first surgeries...then you can consider your tolerance being effected....

bottomline...It's good to see that you're thinking, but I feel confident in the statement that you could smoke a .2 a day for the rest of your life out of a vape, and never be effected by it.

*I'm certainly not claiming to be an expert, but I would consider myself an entry level chronnaseur.*

Do you mean never effected by tolerance? That .2gs a day is low enough to not build up a tolerance? I suspect this is the case for me at least. Like I said a week or even a month long break after .2g a day (in one instance at night with a vaporizer) dosen't appear to have an effect on tolerance (feelings from using don't seem to be any different from before the break). Leads me to suspect that I can recover from at least .2gs a day.

AT LEAST MATE....For me .2g wouldn't sufficiently medicate my 200lb 6'2 self....It's all relative though, don't miss what you don't have.
