looking forward to seeing how it goes
Definitly Homo.. jk.. U dont have TMV.. everything I have read in the past states Cannabis cannot get TMV. Search for Jorge cervantes + Tomacco mosaic virus. I belie he despells the myth in depth in his book.thats what I was thinking, maybe I'll try milk once, do you think i should use skim,1%,2% or whole?
Its not TMV that goes onto both plants, but varients of Tobamoviruses. HMV wasn't discovered till 2006, over a century past discovery of TMV. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemp_mosaic_virus. There's even a treatment listed tyhere for the unfortunate ones with itOld thread, I know...
Viruses have specific tropisms, meaning they can only bind to cells/tissues that have certain receptors on them. This is "mostly" why other animal/plant viruses cannot infect humans (nobody bring up H1N1!!!) Tobacco mosaic virus is no different... simply put, cannabis and tobacco must have similar/exact genetic elements that allows TMV to replicate within both species.
Despite what wikipedia says, milk is not an antiviral. Somebody earlier said to not use it and I agree... can you imagine how nasty those buds would be after doing that?!?! Bacteria, mold, fungus, geez I shudder to think of someone doing that. I love to contradict myself and theorize however, haha, so I will do so now. Viruses interact with receptors on a host cell, and receptors are made of protein (mostly, maybe some modifications like added carbohydrates) In lab, I use milk to "block" antigens... so basically what I am saying is that MAYBE milk is able to neutralize the receptors on the virus so that they cannot interact with the host cell receptors. I can't think of any other feasible mechanism than this...
get a 60x or better microscope and look real close, i bet you have broadmites.http://pogenetics.com/?page_id=389I have it on my critical mass. Not a major issue but wonder if it starts at the breeder.
ya found microscope and i do have them. gona try a heat treatment. thanks for tips.get a 60x or better microscope and look real close, i bet you have broadmites.http://pogenetics.com/?page_id=389
BULLSHIT, The one person said they had it, I told them it was broadmites and what do you know, It is broadmites. TMV does not happen In MJ. Quit spreading your NONSENSE.I have been studying TMV/HSV in cannabis for over a year now and have noticed it on several different crops (crops were destroyed and rooms were sprayed down with bleach.) The pictures you provided are absolutely a virus ABSOLUTELY and that is coming from more than eight years of professional experience. I understand this is an old thread but i HAD to chime in being there are so many people posting NONSENSE! When you have three out of four matching symptoms of tmv when those symptoms are almost never going to appear for any other problem. TMV/HSV 100%!
