i can deal with the cold better than the heat but i hate how dry it gets in here in winter. Rh is 19. so a humidifier is a must. i keep the thermostat at 65 during the day cuz i have this huge east window that lets the light in and warms up the whole living room. i have no patience for the hot humid summers we get so the AC is on constantly.
Nice edit ...Well i figured that was rather the point of the thread, to talk about what heating you use where you live. It would be rather silly of me to say i put my heating on because it's -45 where sunni lives. My post is about me and where i live, as per the point of the thread

I don't do cold. Never even been in colder than -15C. I've got 20.6C and 51% in the bedroom right now but I'll turn it down before sleeping. In the summer the living room can hit 36C by 10am in the morning. I sleep better in the heat than anyone I know. I use AC for the girls only though!

Pops and I were talking the other day about how you folks in the far north even make it. Seems like when it is -40 or some shit it would be hard to make enough heat to warm a large place. Gas/electric bills must be outta sight.

I like it a cool, comfortable 90 year round.
Boss lady likes it around 60.
We settle at 75 -- and I'm always cold.

We set our central heating to beween 21-22c (69-72f) during the winter when heating is required (although our bedrooms are colder than the living area). RH in the house is surprisingly dry at around 40% based on the fact that The Netherlands is generally like a soggy gusset! (winter rh=90-95%). I must say I prefer the crisp cold of my home, Scotland, to the damp cold of the Lowlands.

In the winter I set the heater to 61 degrees, and generally run it once in the morning to dispel the night cold.
In the summer I turn on the AC around eighty degrees ... but I'll hold off if I can open the house up and get cooler evening air.
I live in a generally mild climate, but this house isn't well insulated.
