To top or not to top

I am early in worrying about this, but I will be running an auto in the near future (possibly for the solocup contest). I have only run one auto before (currently finishing up flower) and I did not top it.
My other photo. plants that i've topped are big bushes, so I'm wondering if I should maybe top this upcoming auto.
It is going to be an Advanced Seeds Biodiesel Mass/Plus Automatik (Critical Auto x Diesel Auto).
Outdoor starting in a couple days

So pretty much, does anybody have any input on wether that would actually decrease yield or improve it.

Don't top autos, you'll only get MUCH less herb.

Follow the madmans advice. Topping regular autos screws things up. I have experimented with topping super autos with a much
longer grow/ flower time with mixed results, but the nirvana sky did well that way. Peace & be kind

i'm beginning to realize that most (almost all) of the information floating around about autos are just the same old bullshit from years ago.. there are people who grew original autos still perpetuating the same old bullshit info or people that have heard the same old bullshit and never even grew an auto but they will cite old info as fact.. i have a berry ryder that is 12wks today and i have harvested off it three times already and the buds just keep growing.. i would have gotten at least twice as much off my auto pounder if i had done the same to that.. but i fell for all the bullshit. but i would say for max yield you would want a big pot and do an LST circle. but i have seen people have great success with all kinds if training. i say if you are starting off with solid genetics then have at it and see what you can get your auto to do for you

Thanks, that has needed saying for a while now.

the biggest problem that i see in the autoflower underground community
is most that grow them are scared to talk about them for the simple fact that they will get trolled, ridiculed, or just told they are flat out wrong
there is little to no info on these plants if found like 2 books hard copies i got from amazon
and there on a 2nd grade level to be honest maybe middle school at most
fun to read but if youve grown more then one not helpful in the least
and if youve grown many then your journals
will be of more use to you

i've always topped my autos but not after they're nine days old. always worked out well. i do it just to keep the plant a little shorter than normal and i wind up with the same yields as plants not topped. GL

i wait until 5-6 nodes of growth then chop them down at 3rd node
or a week after heavy preflower just cut the tip of the main just the last node if i can get to it

Top or lst will give good results mate. Good luck.
On a side note - I think until you personally grow autos you should keep your mouth shut(not being a know it all or standing on anyone's feet). I don't care if your mate grew em or your cousin etc etc and they say they are shit and a big waste of time n money well guess what -Don't blame the product blame the grower (not all the time but more so than not) .I kept away from autos for years reading into their negative hype n bullshit spins until I saw first hand what autos can do and secondly to get that good a quality smoke in 8,10 or 11 weeks its ludicrous why there isn't good positive info out there on em. I have seen first hand 4oz dry taking off a nlxbb 4-5oz taken off barneys farm auto sweet tooth and there's a good northern light that gets 3-4 oz dry every 9 or so weeks. Until each grower grows his or her own and fully understands the life of a auto there will only be what crap we have now on em.
