Is yield the same topping and not??

Depending on the strain. Do some research on the strain your growing. But in my experience I've seen increased yields with topping. Just try to keep your bud sites even...

...well topping can help keep your plants more short and squat...thus allowing you to have a more uniform grow area...and letting you put your light that much closer...that alone will boost your yield some...
