can some one tell why its good to top the plant. I keep hearing that my plant at 3 1/2 inch should have been toped along time ago. I basicaly need to know the bennifit of toping or leaving it alone.

I usually top if my plants are getting too tall, the odd one is taller then the rest she usually gets topped, as i don't want my buds against the glass with two 600w behind it. :D

topping at 3 and a half inches? or three feet?

To me, that shit is like defeating the purpose! You are technically cutting a piece of your plant away so you are not creating multiples of anything. You in fact providing more light to the side branches which makes them produce more, but that's after your plant recovers. Just move the main cola out of the way.

Wrong 7th1der, if you fim or top you get more colas instead of just one, first pic is of a fimmed plant of mine, see how bush, second picture same thing.

So overall if you have patience and time then topping is the way to go if you want to produce more, also LSTing them too.

Cheers, And happy growing

Oh, and for all you MG soil haters, thats all grown in MG soil. Looks like its growing preetty good to me, just thought that id trow that in, it is indeed hard to grow in MG, but if done right it works great.

Cheers again.

Well, to me "subtracting" to "add" makes no sense. I'm LST'n myself. And I too am using MG Organic Choice. There's a little stress here and there from the nutes but I think overall its just potting soil. However, I do have a big ass bag of Ocean Forest on stand by. Good luck!
