To nute or not to nute. That is the question.

I'm growing 1st auto, early miss (big bud x auto white widow) in ffof cut with 33%perlite. 1500 watt cob led. No nutes to this point. Tomorrow will make 4 weeks from germination and I seem to be in solid flower already. It has happened faster than I expected. For this past week or so they have been growing upward almost an inch a day and the last 2 days has slowed down exponentially. I'm not sure it grew any taller at all this past 24 hours. Which tells me they are entering flowering stage proper. My question at this point is should I start flower nutes now or wait another week? I know the ffof has another week or so of nutes left in it or so I've been told. But I will be top dressing in espoma garden tone and bulb tone at 1/4 strength to start and I know it'll take a week or so for that to be readily available to the plants as well. So it seems like now is the time. I just dont want to burn them now as they are doing really well. But also want them to have everything readily available that they want to create big giant buds. :bigjoint:20190424_154126.jpg

how big is your growing container? now is definitely a good time to topdress some extra nutrients... especially if you're using a smaller growing container. FWIW, your flower development tells me that the stretch period is pretty much over. she'll just swell buds now, shouldn't be much more vertical growth. At least that's how it happens with photoperiod plants... I'm assuming autos operate in the same manner.

One is in a 1.5 gal and one in a 3 gal container. Was testing this first run. And would still like to see at the end what the roots look like in both and that will decide the future size pots I will use for all autos because right now they are very even. And I have read that what you are saying is exactly true. That's why I was thinking it's time. I dont want to stop the vertical growth of course but it doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

Many auto strains do not gobble up nutes like photo period plants. If your plants look good now, you may want to wait a week, add just a little, and watch them to see how they react. The little bit of plant we can see in the pic you posted looks great btw. :)
