Beginners:

Growing Marijuana is not as easy as you believe, well until you get it down that is....It is also not cheap, I suggest getting some $$ before you try anything...

There are a lot of different things you need to learn about growing, such as...

What are you going to use as a Medium?
(Soil/Hydroponics, Aeroponic setup?)

Soil: Definitely use a more "caring" company other then Miracle Grow. Such as Fox Farm. Most likely you will want a lot of peat moss, perlite, etc... good drainage for soil... The reason you most likely won't want Miracle Grow is because:
A.) Most, people like to use other nutrients/additives instead of Miracle Grow (Nutrients come inside soil)- Which can lead to as I refer to it "Nute Overdose" which means your plant will have many problems, we don't want to get into that right now... But it can lead to bad things...

An Aeroponic setup usually sprays water to the roots, while allowing oxygen to also get to the roots... Virtually growing "in air"... This would be my favorite technique... very good yield and fast(er) production over soil...

What will be your method of growing?
(Guerilla, Outside/Inside, Sea of Green, Scrog, Aeroponics, Bubble-ponics, Mist-ponics, Deep Water Culture?)
Most have the same object... allow water and oxygen to the roots...

Watering... (Do you understand the basics of watering a weed? I hope so... )

Not touching your plants...(This is serious, a lot of new growers are WAYYYYYYY too impatient... plants DO NOT grow overnight.)

The right amount of light...( of course this takes some studying up on, but usually 600 Watt hps is what is best... Not too hot not too cool... Of course if your growing outside you will have the sun, be sure to shade it for the first1-3 weeks...

Purchasing items...( Whether or not your buying items online or from the Hydroponic store down the street... I ALWAYS ALWAYS recommend buying it from a Hydroponic store..)
The reason for this is:
A.) You can actually see in person what you are getting, the only downfall is most likely you will be charged more then if you bought it online..
B.) The people at the Hydro store know what they do best, which is growing indoors... Ask questions.. but don't be an idiot...

If your good with online shopping I urge you to do what you do best! :D
Of course paying in cash is THE SAFEST method...

My hands are killing me so I hope this is helpful...

Of course this is not all the knowledge of growing weed... there is ALOT! ALOT! ALOT! more... Make sure you do your research like I did before I started to grow...

Appreciate you taking the time to type that out!

I'm a first time grower ... I planted about 10 unknown seeds(I only smoke premium buds) I've periodically collected over the past 6 months last monday(5-4) in some regular potting soil, watered them and today I got my first my first signs of sprouting. From what I can see, 4/10 have broke the surface and sprouted. I'm wondering how much I should water them in their first stages of sprouting and what my light cycle should be like at first. I'm use 3 100w 6500K CFLs daylight specturm 1600 lumens

Any advice or suggestions would be really helpful! Thanks

Usually not much water, just 2-3 sometimes even 4 sprays of water... just to get it moist, I usually spray-water every 1-2 days....usually everyday until the plant gets around 2-3 sets of leaves... or if its 5-7 inches...
