To much to smoke, to little time to cure.

Hello Rollitup community, I am in a bit of a smokers dream dilemma.

This summer I decided to grow 3 Organic Auto plants out in the sun, I guess I was just excited to grow some bud outdoors and overlooked or underestimated these fine ladies potential , now with summer coming to a close and the girls drying out I am left with the oldest dilemma around of not enough time... I leave my summer home in 15 days with 2 plants only having been cut down this morning. Selling for me is completely OUT of the question in breaks my moral code about Cannabis.

Now to my Question with such short time I am unsure if its possible to cure it to the point of being able to last a year in a sealed jar. Nor am I set up to turn it into hash, I really would love to be able to leave it for next summer. Please let me know your thoughts on what to do.

Depending on the plants (you probably pulled them too early if you're harvesting outdoor already), you have 15 days to dry and cure before you plan to seal and store them.

1. Dry for 5 - 7 days, depending on temp, humidity, size of buds. You might was well 'wet' trim to speed up the drying process, you'll probably end up with grassy smelling buds at this point.

2. Put the buds in multiple paper bags, fold over the top of the bags, and store in a warm, dry, dark place. Stack the trimmed buds no more than a 3 - 4 inches deep in each bag (single layer would work better). Shake the bags daily and break up any buds sticking together (Klingons). Check humidity levels in the bags to make sure they don't get drier than 56%.

3. Move the buds to jars the last 3 - 4 days and verify the humidity in the jars stays between 58 - 63%. Used Boveda packs to help with maintaining a constant humidity level if needed.

With several days in paper bags prior to jarring, your buds should stabilize at a decent moisture content level, assuming you're drying and curing 'room' remains around 65 - 70 degrees and no more than 65% humidity. Several posters here at RIU have mentioned accidentally leaving buds/colas in paper bags for months and later finding they were still smokeable.

I usually start smoking after 6 days of drying. Then the rest cures until i get to it and smoke it lol.

My auto girls were out side since June 1st, I do feel they were a couple days early but not far off.
I am currently running a DE-humidifier set keep my drying room at around 20-40 % humidity ( i set it extra low due to the weather turning bad outside).
I did 'wet' trim them with the idea of letting more moister out quicker, and have made sure they are well spaced out while hanging.
It might be hard to find Boveda packs out in my area ( very rural) any home tricks I could try, I'll give the paper bags a go and get my some good quality glass jars.

P.s I do not consider my self a novice grower nor an expert, I have plenty of personal grows under my belt, and normally have ample time for my buds to get just right.

My drying space is an attic room so the temperatures vary with the weather, its generally the warmest place in the house here. Currently around 18-22 at night and 20-30 degrees in the day.

That's pretty hot during the day and dry for a drying room, your buds will be bone dry in 5 - 7 days in that environment. Do us a favor and let us know how it turns out. Next year you might want to plan for modifying your drying area that will allow you a 5 - 7 day dry and at least a couple weeks to get your buds in jars at a stable RH% for a good cure.
