take it easy on the carbon consumption, please........cfls; to germ-seedling, at least. i like them all the way thru. very efficient up close. up close, being key. they burn coal and oil to make that electricity, ya know? even if cost is not a driving factor......
I ride a bike so maybe that balances it out. Really anyway I spent my money is going to cause the economy gears to turn over=more pollution, just to be realistic

I know.........it's frustrating, just for now, but later it evolves into what ever the plant needs. Number of bulbs = heat & $, you may get some benefit....depends on the watts. I use 24w to start, then 48w total & in 4-6wks. their ready to flower.
Averaging 4-6oz from a 2ft. plant & getting better every cycle. Time is the enemy of us all.

Yea its great to use CFL's for seedlings and clones but i hear its good to use the MH for veg so they dont stretch as much and theyll grow beautifully.

Carried this conversation into another thread and was provided this info. Definitely worth a bookmark, or probably a quick memorize, its pretty straight forward data, and seems legit to me. More beleiveable than the Bible at least. In regards to "how hard do I want to push in veg," the answer is as big and fast as possible. I would rather trim back a plant that got TOO BIG (never happened to me), than sacrifice size and potential yield. I've vegged with T5 before, never CFLs, not unhappy with the output for the cost, and I may actually go back to it some day.
