To much light for Clones?

Someone in these forums once put it best. Sorry I can't remember who, but he said you only need to give the clones enough light to remind them they are supposed to live, so in the mean time they can focus taking root.

Thats actually a very good point.

I did have to much light on just both plants so i went ahead and lowered it to just 6 cfls instead of 9.

Thanks for all the input guys.

Edit: Any problem in misting the plants if they seem dry? Even if its a little heavy misting? Like before I mist twice a day they just seem like they need it from time to time

Why would you do that? The point made above is to not give the plant too much light BEFORE IT ROOTS. Yours have already rooted, and can be treated as a vegging plant (ie, as much light as possible.. 40%+ humidity). You cant give it too much light with CFL's. Youll never "light bleach" them with those lights. Turn all nine back on. And consider getting a few more.

As you read more on this site, you will come across info that says "Do not mist when the lights are on." This is also non-applicable to you, because you are using CFL's. The reason to avoid misting with the lights on is because HID lighting is intense enough to magnify from the droplets of water enough to burn the plants leaves. CFL's are not bright enough for this to happen... So in short, yes, you can mist your plants as much as you need to to keep the humidity to a tolerable level.

Well im just being a dummy. I hear ya now.

I went ahead and purchased a temp meter that i can read from the outside, humidity is 38+ temps are little below 83.
Wonder how I can tinker with it..

I also went ahead and bought a ph test and its at around 7.0..hope its good enough. I know its 5.5-6.8 or something.

also checked its npk, phosphorus seems low everything else is at medium..cant get thits nitrogen goin i must be stoned or something...anyways, things I think will start going well

misting a plant is fine if you have low humidity it will help a little... as long as you have a fan blowing on your plants the water will evaporate b4 an hid burns it the reson it is said to do it with lights off is mainly due to the fact that if you get a drop of water on your bulb it will explode in your face and who wants that..... raise the light up real high and spray away from the light at all times not up through the canopy that would not be cool....

but once again this does not apply to cfl growers just getting some info out
:peace:

Still good info. That would be a shitty situation to have a bulb blow up in ur face especially if ur bongsmilie....that would be a waste of high =P and money.

an update this morning at the lower part of the stem some new leaves came in (Tiny 3-4 leaves). I know im excited like a newbie..first time though.

9 bulbs are back up there and Im loving this temp meter, I can read it from my desk...:blsmoke:. Humidity stays around 39%

The drooping one hasnt been watered for 3 days now (both of them havent) they still feel a little heavy. Shes getting her life back though...i think at least

You guys are alot of help, cant thank ya enough

Edit: 3 days now havent watered and the pot still feels heavy..hope I didnt give it to much water when I transfered it, the soil was moist but I watered around the edges and it drained.....thought if i overwatered it, it would have been drooping by now.
