to lollipop or not to lollipop,that is the question?

so ive been reading alot lately about lollipopping but i cant seem to find out if you will yeild more with 1 single cola or with a bushy plant...my tent is 10.5 sq feet and ill be using 2 250w hps's...i figure i can fit about 16 2 gallon pots in the tent, and finally my question is do you guys think it would be better to lollipop them or to just trim them up here and there? also if i decide to lollipop when should i do it for the 1st time? thanks for all the help guys!

week into flower take 1/4 of the bottom off dont leave any side branches to get 1 cola.

you normaly will get more off a bush than a lollipoped plant..the idea of lolli poping is so you dont have the side branch's and can fit alot more plant into a given space..tighter compaction of plants...therefore producing more bud with the same area....all the energy from the plant goes into producing one quality bud..instead of a bunch of little ones..if you want to get a idea though..pack you a bunch of two gallon bags with dirt..and put them close together on the floor..if you had bush's you couldnt do that..see how many more you get in the same floor space..in a two ft by about five ft area you can get..im just guessing..25 plants pretty easy..in two gallon grow bags..

well if u got 1 plant under 250w and trying to make her get its full potential it seems like it makes sense to me to get rid of all that lower stuff that turns into small airy unattractive nugs so the plant can focus on the main shit. i didnt lollipop last time but im going to try it this time...

You are going to have a big problem with overcrowding with 16 pots in a 3x3 space. You will need to lolipop if you have that many. 9-12 might be ok but still pushing it. If every plant needs 1 square foot of grow space you are looking at 10 1/2 plants... Think about it.

i have a 3x4 (12sq ft) area and 4 bushes (not even that big) would take up more than their fair share. i would go about 3-4 bushes and lst them for some good yields. would take a bit added veg time, but not a lot. thats one more benefit of small single cola plants, you get to clone and 12/12 pretty much right away.

the other end of the spectrum, you could veg for a while with two plants under a scrog and get the same yield, just a longer time. well maybe not the same, but similar

If you've grown and found that you have a lot of popcorn on the bottom, you might want to give lollitopping a try.
