To harvest my c99 or not to harvest, the great and wonderful question.

47 days in, looks beautiful under the microscope. at least 40% cloudy trichs, and not too many brown trichs. What would you guys suggest? I hear the cloudy - brown trichs give more of a coughlock high, whereas the cloudy chop gives more of a head and body high.

I don't think it'll be done after only 47 days, but hey who knows. If your showing 40% cloudy then I'd wait another week or two. trichs are cloudy when they are mature. Amber trichs are starting to degrade into CBD. The high is more affected by genetics not the state of the trichs IMO. (except of course too many clear or amber would be a weak high no matter the genetics)...throw up some pics!

post some pictures. but a good rule of thumb is to go off of the trichromes once they begin to brown and redden and become that well desired amber color all around the bud then it is time for flower. how have they been grown media, nutes, etc.

idk looks like you can go longer if you harvest now as your buds dry they will begin to fluff up and become worthless. they do not look very dense right now you are only at 6 and a half week when harvest is generally about 8 weeks so just be patient with it and chill out its a patient process haha just smoke a joint and watch your babies grow. dont forget to flush them in their last week before harvest it will help with the taster afterward and will make it easier to tell when to harvest. If this is your very first time I would go with the 8 week standard. in the furutre you will be able to add or subtract a few days just on knowing the prime time. but right now is probably good to play it safe.

Right on. Yea I was just reading about others experiences with C99 so I decided to check my trichs with the scope and saw the cloudy trichs all over. I hear a lot of c99 growers go 49-55 days, but in my case it could go a little longer.

Amber is NOT the desired colour. Once they're amber they are degrading into CBN (not psychoactive). You want cloudy trichs (you'll always see a few amber though).

from what i heard and what makes sense ur gonna wanna go for like 85-90% Cloudy some still clear and some amber color..

Dont listen to others who say wait till all are amber.. thats Retarded ur only ruining ur Crop :P lol

Like i said when u See mostly like 85-90% Cloudy ur ready to Chop

Remember Trichs will continue to develop and degrade once u have Chopped.

Hope that helps

BTW WHERE ARE THE PICS!? lol :bigjoint:

cdnbudder are you serious? the amount of THC and CBD is all withing the strain nothing "converts" from when psychoactive stimulant to the next. dont give info when you dont have your own information straight. yes shortly after the entire bud is wilting and dark and disgusting it is to late. once it hits this point it will begin losing THC not "converting" it to cbd. every strain has a predetermined level of THC it can achieve but can not exceed or go below certain amounts. just cause you have more fancy green bubbles does not mean you can start yelling out false facts son.

I'm gonna stick with the pros on this one. Get a crop off and then maybe you'll have a clue.

and oops, I meant CBN not CBD

Thats exactly the pic I went by. On my lower stems (the ones that get the least light) I see more of a cloudy to clear ratio, but going higher up the trichs are cloudy, with few brown trichs. As for the pics, the pics should be up there.

if your seeing amber/cloudy up top then I'd chop it yep. You can leave the lower buds on and they will mature a little more if you want.

They arent really big on the bottom, the only reason I made this thread as well is because I was reading that c99 is one of the fastest plants, from beginning 12/12 to harvest, and I've come to understand that it's even more so than other strains.

Average posts never go more than 55 days flower time, and most chop at the 45 - 50 day mark. I'm new to the microscope to check thing, but this is just what I've seen with my plant so far. I'm figuring out easier ways to tell between a 'clear' trich and a 'cloudy' trich and I take back what I said earlier about being about 40% cloudy. Honestly theres a lot of cloudy trichs all over the plant. I saw a few browns on there they were a little more wilted.

ya I've heard it's a fast one, but have no experience. If your scope is telling you cloudy then I'd chop. A few days either way isn't gonna make any difference, but if you're like me then first sign of a few amber trichs they get the old chop chop.

I have a few other c99's in flower too, about ~7 weeks behind. So it's not like I can rly fail lol. I'm trying to get a picture with my phone to the scope to should you, maybe I can cut a small sugar leave off and place that on a flat surface to get a picture. Any suggestions gettin a pic of the trichs?

Very great article. Well I have a few amber hairs on my buds, as you can see in the pictures. Now I SPOSE I can wait another week, but I'd love to make room for my other flowering plants as well. Will the trichs continue to mature a little bit after chopping or does it stop?

I plan to hang each stem for ~3 days, keeping an eye on them with my Hygrometer and then starting to jar them to slowly take them down to ~60-62% humidity.

Give it some more time. about 15 more days then think about harvesting or waiting longer. have patients you can't rush perfection. It looks good so far don't fuck it up by second guessing brother
