Here are some pictures of my two plants and the trichomes their not the best but I can see some amber and some cloudy.was just wondering should I flush if using biobizz or just let them ride and continue feed.if I got to flush is now the time looking at the trichomes or give it longer this is my 3rd grow 1st I didn't know about trichome colour and second I didn't go all way because budrot any info be great. Yes you can. I have and they grew roots. Caveat I did this in winter when it was cooler and it took a long time. I use an Aerocloner.

I usually take clones in week 2 of flower and experience no re-veg. I've occasionally waited until week 4-5 to take clones and experienced a small amount of re-veg but only a short delay in reaching veg after say a month to get roots.

On an occasion I needed to keep a plant I did not have a clone of and I cloned it as opposed to just chopping and re-vegging an arm left on the original plant (another option for you).

It took a long time, between 6 weeks and 9 weeks for the cuttings to root and then it took almost another 6 weeks to get completely back into vegetative mode. The plant actually looked like it was unscrewing itself! Prior to putting back into flower I did take a bunch of cuttings (since I did not want to have to do this again). They all rooted under 2 weeks and vegged normally on transplant.

But yes you can clone at anytime but it won't be easy or quick.

I persoanlly find I get the best results by flushing for a week or two, and dropping the humidity/temp little by little as I do so. I am no pro though, just my two cents.

Everyone has their own opinion on if and when to flush. The conventional wisdom is that if you want more cbd (body stone) you start a 7-14 day flush when your trichomes are milky with a few starting to turn amber -- finishing with roughly half milky and half amber. Others start flushing when their trichomes are clear and have just become bulbous so they can get the higher thc content -- the head high -- finishing with milky/ clear trichomes. And some say flushing is b.s and they chop whenever they feel like it. You're at the point now, if you want a good flush, you'd be looking at a higher cbd content. In my experience, no matter if flushed or when it was chopped, the quality comes in a nice slow dry -- and a good 3 week to 3 month cure, depending on the strain, makes it that much better.

No, that is not "the conventional wisdom" at all. It's also not true (thc->cbn not cbd, and flushing for 2 weeks after first amber is just bad advice). Amber does not equal more CBD, it can however mean less THC, which only relatively increases the level of CBD that's already there (based on genetics... hence high CBD strains in the medicinal industry... which are chopped while clear). It increases the CBD % of total cannabinoids by lowering the total (degrading THC), not by increasing the actual amount of CBD)

I take clones in flower all the time when I get a pheno that surprises me and needs to be kept.

The longest I've ever seen one take to root was 2 weeks.

They do take a long time to go back into veg if that is your mission, but to root? I've never had it take over a month, no matter how far into flower the shoots were.

Try a warming blanket or something to warm up the clones. 6 to 9 weeks is simply un-called for. ;) I'd be cussing out my clones daily...


Edit: As for flushing... I don't flush. I just cut back the nutes the last week and give them nothing but water on their last watering. I use Happy Frog and Botanicare. Not sure about other products...

I flush out of...just because. I don't believe they logic behind it. I mean farmers don't flush vegies right, so when you eat a pepper or tomato shouldn't you taste fertilizer?

Of course genetics play a role in cbd content and I'm certainly no scientist but I've read on many growing platforms that thc degrades to cbd and cbn -- so take your bitch up with High Times and guys like Dj Short because they're ones spreading this "misinformation". Irregardless, the point is, without splitting hairs, that the conventional wisdom has been, that a bud with more amber trichomes will be more of a body high and buds with more clear to milky trichomes will be more of a heady high. And as far as when to harvest, it's personal preference. If you want more amber trichomes -- start flushing when you see a couple and so on and so forth. Some people flush and some people swear that it's unnecessary -- I think I fall somewhere in between -- it's not an exact science.

For every 1 grower that has read an obscure Mel Frank article, there's many many more professional growers that still operate under the same rules as yesteryear and produce top shelf product so as I said before, I'm not a scientist so you should take your pretentious expostulation to someone a little more important -- maybe then, more research can be done and more articles can be written to try and debunk all the old conventional wisdom.
