To Cut or Not to Cut?

Hey Guys,

OK so i have 3 monster bushes.

2 are PERFECTLY centered and stretched out for maximum light penetration.

However because of this one became only half in the light.

I pulled the 3 main colas closer into the light but you can tell that one side is pitiful and going to produce nothing.

I'm in the 3rd week of flowering.

Do I:

A) use a razor and cut all that useless growth?

B) Leave it because it might put the plant into shock?

I'll add a pic soon as lights are off....

I would also like to know the answer to this as i have similar questions.. sort of..

But I've always assumed and been under the impression from other people that cutting anything off a plant is a no no... especially during flowering

You can trim the bottom branches if they are starving for light; they won't produce much anyway. Should help push more a bit more bud to the tops if it is early enough in bloom phase.

Can't you just spin the plants around 1/2 turn everyday?

You should be rotating them as often as possible and training for as even a canopy as possible....never cut off healthy tops. A little pruning shouldn't cause stress; but an inconsistent light cycle, light leak, or high temps will.

yeah bro i feel you but i'm not always home to do that.

Besides i figure i can just get those 3 main colas to super bud.

Finally, yer not seeing the whole operation... those plants are like 4'x4'x5'

I honestly could care less about those fluff nugs... here is another more clear pic of the main op.

I don't buy the 'cut off weak growth to send more energy to the bigger buds' theory. Upper growth remains the same in my experience whether I cut or not. Why not have a jar of fluffy, sticky buds also? I cut only the driest dead leaves, of which there are few.

And it just seems silly... cutting lower branches on an apple or orange tree doesn't make the top explode with a disproportionate amount of fruit. You just get less. And, yes, to answer your question, it does stress her, retarding growth briefly.

Don't get me wrong pruning the bottoms is not some whackass theory to increase yield but the OP said "monster" plants which implies thick growth. I would never cut anything off a healthy plant until harvest time. Better to lollipop them while in veg, pull off selected branches for cloning and then flip em; & leave them to do their thing til they are done.
Just spin them around as often as you can; ya gotta be home to water them at least a couple times a week.

Yer right bruh.... but i'm gonna yield over a pound.... and that's all i need until my perpetual growing system produces more.

This far into flowering id leave it. Hard to judge by the pics but if its a decent size plant you may get enough popcorn and fluffy buds to make some oil.

If you can get 3 or more ounces of popcorn and good fluff you can get a nice amount of oil.

Veg a plant for 3 months, create an even canopy (Sea of Green) and BAM i have 10-16 colas...=)

i dont think you know what SOG is...

Buy a few cheap cfl's bro and put them right up to the smaller side and they will grow fine. Few extra $$$'s for more bud. If you cut that side off you will fuck the flowering period majorly.
