im on my first grow, im about 5 to 6 weeks in and my plants are budding nicely, the thing is im unsure what to do about the useless leaves that are growing, im getting some nice buds lower down but im wondering whether to cut a few leaves here and there to maximise their light intake, is this a good idea ????

buds photosynthesise only a small amount, their job is to produce seeds. the leaves on the other hand photosynthesise a lot, this is their primary job. if you cut them off they will make less food to make bud. they are the solar panels of the plant. they are far from useless

The only leaves that are useless on a plant are the ones that turn yellow & fall off when you tug very lightly on them, the rest are doing their job.

If the fan leaves are in the way then tie them off out of the way,or move the bud site into the light & tie off the branch,no good will come from chopping off the plants solar panels, smaller buds will be the result.

rite so iv pulled a few of the leaves off from the bottom that were dying, should i throw them in the bin? or leave them lying on the soil as like added fertiliser iv seen people do this with other types of plants.
