To cover or not to cover?

The covers are not made of tinfoil, I used the corrugated pvc cut outs from the NFT kit. Thanks for the entertainment and suggestions. The covers are not taped down and just float on top, so I think they are getting enough air. I will take the suggestion and experiment with a couple with the cover off. Thanks again.

oh and by the way..these two things directly make co2 gas (dry ice), which is what the plants want (preferably not in the form of dry ice..but) the oxygen and carbon in their raw forms

H2O + CO2 --> H2CO3 Also if you mix H2O with CO2(s) (common name dry ice) you get CO2 gas and an acidic CO2/H2O mixture.
Oxygen in it's raw, and only, form=O2. Carbon in it's raw form would be C (You know, Carbon.). Fail again. Nobody would give you near as much shit if you actually resembled having a clue when you spoke.

One more question about rockwool. Should the blocks be placed in something with a solid bottom, to create a dark environment? I understand there has to be some drainage, but I currently have them sitting in one of those plastic mesh storage shelves.

Bmeat never ceases to amaze and astound.

Dry ice skips the liquid phase and moves directly to a gaseous state. Hence the name dry ice. H20 is not involved. Dry ice off gasses because of the temp differential.

Have some self respect and at the very least google this stuff before spouting off random bullshit.

Jesus H Keeeerist on a crutch.

oh the wall, not your covers. FYI..IF you do put up tinfoil...try to crease bend, as little as possible. Same with the mylar. Tin foil is expensive compared to the blankets, and the blanks are much easier to work with. Entertaining post. Good stuff.

Sorry thought you were talking about the covers. Thanks for the tip, I will make sure to switch it out with some without bends. Unfortunately in this third world country, tinfoil is my only option.

hey, we all gotta work with what we have available. Try measuring the inside of your box exactly. Unroll tin foil, measure and fold neatly. With less creases, it gives more reflection, and if you're using cfls, you need all the light you can get. ; ) i almost used tin foil too, but I found the mylar blankets. They give off like 75-85 percent..rather than a whitw wall at like 65-75 percent.

if theres adequate ventilation under them no..i really like to let my soil breath as much as possible though, even cut the sides of my cups up. Trust me i am very very experienced in growing.
This guy Has never even grown in pots. So don't take any of his advice.

Don't worry, I take everything with a grain of salt. Research and common sense followed by experienced advice! while I am here, anyone have advice on how established the root growth should be before dropping into the NFT tank?

Roots are starting to come out a 1/4" from the bottom of the rockwool, but nothing around The sides yet.
I do DWC hydro, and when the roots come out the bottom of the rockwool, I put them in the hydroton and into the bubble system with just plain water for a couple of weeks.

Tin foil should NEVER be used in a grow room, without getting all techy it absorbs more light that it reflects/refracts.
Flat white paint has superior properties than shiny mylar type surfaces, just saying.
