To autoflower or not to autoflower?

So i have been looking through the forum, i have been reading mixed things about autoflowering strains, saying that they are a lot harder to grow and that the genetics are not as solid as the seedbanks let on... but i have also looked at many people's grow journals, and see that they can definitely get impressive. so i was wondering, with a solid grow, will an af be a gamble on getting a good harvest?

The only gamble would be nirvana strains. Get a good breeder. Pick out a seed that you're absolutely sure you want. One will stick out to you. They're definitely not harder to grow though. Easier if anything. I've stressed one of mine from hell and back and she's doing just fine.

sweet... i was lookin at either easy ryder or diesel ryder, b/c i heard about nirvana's afs.... although af blue mystic sounds muy delicioso!

Two things that keep me away from the autos: potency is not quite as strong and you can't clone them. A lot of people seem to really like them though...

nvmd, i checked your grow journal... nice! haha
Yeah, thanks man :). I think auto's have their purposes. They stay smaller, but still get reasonably sized. You don't have to change light cycle and worry about interrupting the dark cycle. They're good for stealth grows and newbies. They're just fun, I like having my plants flower at 14 days.

i am never buying lowryder again - the diesel ryders were very unpredictable for me - they went into some kind of weird ruderalis pattern where they made VERY floofy buds.. 2 of 5 diesels were very spindly.. kinds that were good for me were - Flower Power - Big Devil - Blue Himalayan Diesel - Russian Rocket Fuel.. Big Devil is a good producer - the smoke burns kind of hot - tastes nice like oranges..

I have had one grow with nirvanas autos I had blue mystic, bubbalicious, and short ryder. The sr and bm worked great all flowered at three weeks finished at 8 but my bubbas did not autoflower in fact they have to be induced to flower which is bull. but i decided to order more sr and try the northern lights so i hope they all auto flower. Good luck in your grow. The attitude seems to be the best bet gonna try em even though it aint cheap but they got all good flavors I am gonna get blueberry, Afgan ryder , and double diesel.

Im currently growing nirvana's bubblelicious autos and are flowering at week 4 under 24/0 T5. I've grown autos for 2-3 yrs and love'em. I've grown them under 1000w hps or a 400w hps along with some regs on 12/12 and always hada good results. Unlike the above poster, I personally PREFER the lowryder strains, especially Lowryder 2. I don't post grow journals here but autos have been my primary source of good weed for quite some time.
Auto's certiainly can and will fill a distinct need and I personally will always grow'em....they are quite stealthy because of size and are awesome little donkey dicks as my gf calls them. On quality, I've found'em up there with most strains and I thoroughly enjoy......

ok - i cannot speak for all of the strains - what i had were Lowryder Diesel Ryder feminized - i could see trying other Lowryder products, but not the diesels again...

well after some more research and looking over some other threads, i have decided to go with himalaya blue diesel by short stuff seeds from attitude, plus i think i get some free dinafem seeds too so ill be happy to try those!

cool! the blue himalaya was my favorite i think - it has a nice sweet blueberry taste and it is not as rough smoking as some others..

To auto, trust me you need to look into what breeder you get your stock from.

Just a few that can be found.
