To anyone that supports PETA...

Someone extremely close to me is an associate director for PETA. The original post is so full of misinformation, it's outrageous.

I can assure you no one at PETA takes the act of euthanising animals (be them puppies, kittens, birds, or donkeys) even remotely lightly. The people I've met who work for PETA are anything but 'retards'. You are completely free to agree or disagree with their methods, but the suggestion that they're desperate to kill rather than re-home healthy animals is deeply offensive to me, and to anyone who is passionate about animal welfare.

This need not be a pissing contest about who cares more for animal welfare, but rather merely to balance the 'The PETA organisation is bullshit and PETA employees are all retards [sic]' argument with 'The PETA employees I know personally devote more time and energy than I care to consider to the implementation of animal welfare policy around the world'.

Yea they kill animals without putting them up for adoption. So what? You are getting all pissed off about it, but I would be willing to bet the pet adoption market in your area is completely flooded and saturated already. If you want to adopt a pet I guarantee there are still more than enough available even with peta killing everyone that comes in its doors.

I dont think his concern was not being able to find a pet to adopt..

No, it was with the fact that peta doesn't even attempt to adopt them out, it just takes them in and kills them. What's the big deal though? Why get pissed about that? As I said, the market is already saturated so what good would it do to use up even more resources to try and find these pets a home when you end up killing them anyway?

I dislike peta for other reasons. I just don't see what they are doing here as a call for outrage. In fact it seems much more economical and humane to kill them.

peta does adopt some animals out but they generally take the worst of the worst health wise and thats why most are euthanized
