To all very experienced people with Spider Mites and Azamax

I need some help. I am 3.5 weeks into flowering. I have been using the Doktor Doom Fogger. I would like to spray with Azamax. Will this effect the taste? Will it kill the spider mites?

AzaMax is a natural product with a broad spectrum of pest control and broad plant applications. AzaMax is made from special Azadirachtin Technical extracted using patented extraction technology from Neem, a tree known for it’s innumerable benefits. AzaMax contains Azadirachtin A&B as active ingredients and more than 100 limonoids from it’s special technology. The special feature of AzaMax is that it does not use hard chemical solvents and uses food grade formulation ingredients. AzaMax is licensed in all 50 states.

AzaMax is an antifeedant and insect growth regulator and controls pests through starvation and growth disruption. AzaMax effectively controls spider mites, thrips, fungus gnats, aphids, whiteflies, leaf miners, worms, beetles, leafhoppers, scales, mealy bugs, nematodes and other soil borne pests. Best of all, AzaMax can be applied up to the time or day of harvest. The product is exempted from residue tolerance, thus there is no harmful residue on veggies, fruits, herbs and flowers etc. Truly, AzaMax is a product of Nature in tune with Technology.

I'd say you are fine to use it.

This week I have been at war with these little basterds. I used a Dr. Doom fogger on Monday. On Tuesday Night I used the Azamax spray on my flowering plants. On my mothers I did the soil drench and spray. Today I put a hot shot no pest strip in there. They have been greatly reduced. Hopefully I got them.

Hey , im not sure abt this but, I get this product called ROGOR, it has dimethoate. Works prettty well on medium infestations . U can use it upto 2 weeks of flower. Infact austrailan and dutch governments recommend these for soyabeans , during their airid weather spells.

If alternated with neem oil , like 1 spraying a cpl of weeks, i doubt u will ever get spidermites.

But like i said , im not a pro. :D

Cheers

At this point I am open to all suggestions. Today I searched for any signs of live ones. Didn't see any moving. Thank You for your help.

LOL, did you expect to? I'd be scared to go anywhere near those plants now too. :)
No I didn't expect to see them. The reason for the overkill it they had been coming back every time I did something else. Hopefully I didin't do any damage to plants. The spider mites were overtaking my room so it was either let them have the plants or fight them with everything possible. Now that I am putting the Azamax in the soil for my clones and mothers hopefully I will not need to do it like this again.

I think I had some unintended consequences. After all the things I did to stop the spider mites, I took 26 clones and not 1 of them even began to root. They all died in 1 week. I'm not sure what caused this but it had to be something in either the Azamax or Dr. Doom. I should have completely flushed these before the cloning. Has anyone ever had somthing like this happen?

In my experience neem based products (which azamax is, I've used it), are not effective if you have an INFESTATION. I want to be clear that if you have adult insects, neem products do not work well on them. This is because its mode of action is to interrupt hormones in the insect and do not allow it to reach maturity. With this knowledge in mind, you should use something that actually kills the insect on contact (some type of knock down, we can debate which ones work well). I have battled spider mites in the past and I must say the only thing that worked was floramite. I tried all organic methods with very little success, till floramite. You may have had success because you used a knock down first, then the azamax which is probably a very solid approach. The root drench is a good idea as well, because neem is supposed to be systemic. Keep a close eye on your plants, because even one left could start the cycle all over again. Good luck!

I check them everyday. I have not seen anything on my maturing plants. I did find a small web on one my clones about a week ago. Nothing since then.

In the future start hanging those hot shot No Pest strips from the beginning. Those alone will prevent any mites, and it will kill the shit out of adult ones too. I don't leave them out during flower, as they are harmful to humans and pets, but I have never heard of them being harmful to plants. Subcool uses them too from what I hear, and his shiz is the shiz. Just if you plan to spend a lot of time in your grow tent, seal the strip up in a ziplock until you leave. I hang 2 in a 4x4x6 tent through veg, and I water with mosquito dunks, and right when I start flower I use azamax as a foliar, and then once again about 5-7 days later. This is mainly as an alternative treatment in flower, however if you see them again, I wouldn't hesitate to rehang the strips.
