To Air-Cool or not to Air-Cool? That is the Question

I have had my 400w HPS for a month now but due to the high 80's temp's it was putting out even with some killer exhaust and intake systems, nothing could keep the temps down.

So my plan was to buy an air cooled glass tube hood for my bulb, and cool directly through that. Has anyone tried both and does the direct ventilation to the light keep the temps down big time or would I just be wasting my money?

i have a 600w in a cooltube,with a vortice lineo 125 inline fan temp never over 80degrees. grow area is small 63"x36"x20"

light closer to the plants = more lumnens, more lumnens = more dense buds

I have a 275 cfm exhaust fan so sounds like that should dominate.
