Titanitum and steel pipes I made tell me what you think

I had some scrap pieces of steel and titanium lying around so I have been making some stuff. Check it out tell my what you think. The first picture is my titanium oner its a little bigger than 1/4" diameter and the bowl is about an inch deep. I have Blued it as we say to give it its color. It has the ridges to theoretically cool down the smoke. It is also extremely light, lighter than a cheapo pen or pencil. The second is my Bong I am in the process of I will update as it is finished. It hits really nicely and will never break :leaf:. the third is a pipe i made out of steel, i just thought it would be a cool design. The last is my gold plated pipe. Yes it really is gold plated so it begs the question is gold safe to smoke out of. These are all made out of the highest quality materials, because like i said i used scrap metal and we can only use very high quality materials because of what we make. Also if anyone likes these id be willing to make one for you or maybe a custom piece that you design or at least inspire. Happy smokin!!!!!!!!!!!

is it safe to smoke out of these metals? i never mess around with metal pipes, so i dont know wich ones are good or bad to smoke out of. im pretty sure steel is no good to smoke out of

I would say yes most metals are dangerous to smoke out of because most metals you commonly see are extremely impure but these are extremely high quality stainless steel. From What I can gather these are perfectly safe.

what are the metal designations ?

do you have the mill certs on these metals?

forks spoons knifes
you put these in your mouth all the time
we cook in copper, tin, steel, aluminal
some people love the way cast iron taste
the only problem i see with metel is heat burnning your lips

no I don't have the certs myself as I don't order the material but I do know that we only order 316, 316L, and 440C stainless steels and none of these are magnetic so they are either 316, or 316L and the titanium is either F136 grade 5 or 6.

plenty of pipes (metal ones anyway) are made out of stainless steel... I would assume that it is safe.... titanium is safe enough to use internally in implants... dont know what that says for heating it though... I dunno about gold though, it heats at a fairly low temp., could it possibly break down at an even lower temperature, releasing something harmful???

Everyone thinks heat is an issue but reallythese have no problem with it because the bowls sit on the piece the bowls dont retain the heat for more than a few seconds. they don't conduct heat well to the body the insideof the pipes are hollow so they have alot of expansion which actually cools it down pretty damn well. As for titanium oner it dissipates heat really well like aluminum so personally I think it's hits cooler and the piece itself stays cooler than glass oners

i really like pipes 3 and 4, they are very nice lookin. i dont think you would have a problem smoking out of either of those types of metals...and metal pipes tend to cool off fairly quick... and i have had some of my glass pipes so hot that ive burned myself before so heat isnt an issue with just metal. anytime you are putting an open flame 6 inches away from your face and inhaling fumes from a substance you have just combusted you should probly be worried about heat anyhow.

anyway, your pipes are cool man. build some more and post em on here. im subscribed now

I really like what you have done. But i dont prefer metal pipes. Its one thing to put metal in your mouth (like 'that 5hit" said) but its another story to inhale it.. especially if it gets heated. Now I may be wrong, but thats my IMO about it, logically my brain says NO!

I will definitely update as I continue to make more. It seems everyone here pretty much understands that metal conducts heat well which is true however it also dissapates heat really well especially titanium so they cool down really quickly. Mkay420 I totally agree I can hit the hell out of the titanium pipe and touch the bowl immediatley after I can't do that with my glass oner it burns the shit out of me.
