Tips for growing specifically to make oil

Hey guys, how goes?

I smoke oil exclusively.

I was hoping some of the veteran growers could help me out with some basic tips and techniques for growing my greens specifically to make BHO.

Everything I harvest will be used to make concentrates.

Is there anything I can do to grow them juicier?

UVA/UVB? Nutes? Full spectrum flowering? Sugars?

I currently have some Master Kush clones vegetating.

Grow it as fire as possible, more trichs the better. Fresher bud makes for better oil tho. I wouldnt cure it, id just let them hang dry for a few days then do your thing to make oil.

Is there a way to maximize trich production? I'd try it, even at the cost of yield.


Flavor and potency are my main concerns.

Also, I just flipped tonight.

Should I use my 2 430w HPS', or 1 430w HPS and 1 400w Sunmaster MH (4000K)?

Well, I have them under 1 HPS and 1 MH.

What are the transverse effects? I'm all for the increase in resin production, but what am I losing by not running all HPS?

I think more light = more trichomes... the plant creates trichomes to shield from powerful light afterall...

so basically a 600w or 1000w cooltube with plants about 8-12 inches away should create some super frosty nugs

I'm using 2 balanced bulbs (4000K Sunmaster halide & Son Agro HPS).

I think I have the spectrums covered here.

400w Sunmaster 4000K MH:



430w Som Agro HPS:



Now I'm just looking for the best UVA/UVB bulb setup.
