found this page on the way to save money page of my electricity company wondered if anyone else has changed to this billing rate and noticed a big savings because at those rates savings add up fast with 1000watters

Time-of-Day

If you use the majority of your electricity in the evening, early morning and/or weekends, you may benefit from requesting this revised rate RT. This rate is open to any residential customer, who chooses to have their energy use metered, based upon on-peak and off-peak periods.

From Monday through Friday, on-peak hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Off-peak periods are 7 p.m. to 11 a.m. Weekends are off-peak hours. Prices vary by summer (June — September) and winter (October — May)

Schedule of On-peak and Off-peak hours

The following schedule applies to Monday through Friday (except holidays designated by Consumers Energy). Weekends and holidays are off-peak. Other charges may apply.

Winter (October - May)
Off-Peak Hours 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. ___________________ 6 cents

What state are all these finding for maine? I have also heard such things as electricity being cheaper at night but never really believed it....

i wonder if my light company does anything like this??? got a link to the page? it makes sense to run lights at night, easier to cool.

Never heard anything about it where I live. Definitely would be something I would look into tho... just run ur day cycles at night.
