Timber Grow 4VS

The day has finally arrived! Super stoked about this light. Thanks @RainDan and Carlos for dealing with my impatience! The build on this light is fantastic and this MF'er solid! I wasted no time installing this for the final weeks of flower. Still learning about LEDs, desired temps etc. as I'm coming from HID world. I also installed the AC Filter as well considering I don't have a ducted hood anymore. I never needed to worry about odors before, but man do these things make a difference. I'm sold on filters now.

Sweet, man. I'm going to start scrog'ing next round. Was probably going to do what your doing with a super single. Would just need to bring my RDWC back up to snuff.

Careful not to bump your noggin on the corner of the light. That's when you find out how solid the frame is.

It will help during those final few weeks. But your first full flower cycle will really show you what that light is capable of.

Or do what I did the other day while shuffling plants around and get your head too close to the cob and wonder what that smell is and then oh shit ..that's smoke. Burnt my hair on one of my 4VS COB'S, luckily I shut the fixture off and it cooled down enough to stop smoking and then I just took a cloth diaper and some distilled water and wiped it off. Good as new. Mine has been pretty full bore 100% since I got it about 3 years ago and it still kills it for me. I just need to talk to Dan about getting a stand alone single or maybe even a pair to fill in my 4x4 tent. The driver's great for quick drying buds too but I doubt Dan's a fan of that

Good thing it didn't burn the skin.

But which one of these is worse - burnt hair or burnt microwave popcorn?

This past grow I was able to dial in nutes and tent environment to run those COB's full tilt at 20" above They gave me incandescent light bulb sized flowers.

I can def see me smacking my head on this. Got some of those corner guards from baby proofing my house. May toss them on the corners. Definitely looking forward to the next grow.

So you run @ 100% the entire time? Ive been trying to decide how i wanted to run it. Ill let the plant tell me most of the time. Right now i have it at 100%, didn't measure the canopy distance, but i haven't moved it from the photo.

Id say burnt hair. Popcorn stinks and all, but there's something about burnt hair that hits me to the core. 20" at 100% good to know, will remember that one. Early stages too?

I was thinking early stages of life.... ultimately curious to know your regime through the stages. First time with a dimmable light, just used to wide open throttle HIDs.

I use HLG QB's for VEG ( I went with the 3000K COB's for dedicated flowering ... ) but I think the guidelines would be the same with the VS. From the early stages of life I will dim the QB's down to between 30% and 50% and hang them at least 36" to 40" above the young seedlings or rooted clones. Then as the plants respond and show they are growing under the QB's, the lighting intensity is gradually increased and the canopy-light distance is gradually decreased.

When all is said and done, the QB's are kept at 24" above vegging plants at full tilt.

I run it at 100% and vary the distance when I have babies in the tent. I am just flowering with it now but when I did full cycle I'd just have the lights higher up and read the stretch of the seedlings to see whether they needed to go up or down. If I remember right I ran about 30-36" above seedlings once they had a few sets of leaves. Then I'd drop it to the normal height as they got into veg. I also like to run a cheap Walmart fan up top on the driver to keep things cool as insurance and to help prolong the life of everything. I keep mine between 18"-22" in flower depending on the strain and I move mine back and forth and side to side a couple inches every 6 hours to try and prevent hot spots so I can run them as low as possible. Try to keep your temps up above 80 if possible and enjoy the new light..

Thats dope bro! I really never seen anyone run these. Im using the QB96 Elite V2's and they look very similar. Im excited to see how they perform.
