I think this valuation only applies to those who strictly smoke/vape.
Those of us that use the product for edibles/extracts have no issue paying $3-$4 for that if it's done properly.
I can use shake and "ready to roll" in all kinds of different applications and get my money's worth easily.
I would pay $1-$2 a gram if it was specifically trim, but shake tends to be usable product that doesn't differ that much from what I get when I grind up buds.

Agreed. I forgot that he's paying $6 a gram for shake, so clearly he's got money
method of ingestion shouldn't matter when you're talking about price per unit. If you can squeeze more out by making edibles you're just a being frugal and probably doing what works best for you. The fact is that if they can even make $1 per gram off of stems, leaves and loose bottom of the plant buds that they originally weren't going to sell they're still doing pretty good.

I would have to see pictures of it. The "shake" I get is not filled with stems or leaves - those go into "trim".
The shake I get is what comes off the buds, after they've been trimmed and when they get put on a shaker table.
the pictures I've seen from 2 customers who bought tilray's house blends were filled with stems and leaf. not even sugar leaf. looked like dried up fan leaves with the odd piece of bud and red hair for colour.
Not saying all shake is of low quality but when Tilray's goal I'd to stretch the little they have to as many people as possible I can totally see them (and have based on the pictures) being less discerning when it comes to what goes to the compost pile and what gets saved as trim
Pot math doesn't apply here. 10% THC isn't necessarily perceived by the patient as being half as strong as 20% THC, and because it's different strains, it's also completely different effects. I am not buying this for lab testing, I am buying it for medicating, and as medicine it's working great. Whether it's shake or ultra-crystallized bud with trichomes bla bla bla, it smokes great, vapes great, and works great. I really don't care about anything else as I am in it for its medicinal value, not its bragging rights in purist circles.

not trying to be a dick but, have you ever smoked or vaped high quality bud? just curious as to me, I would have a real hard time enjoying the diminished effects of trim versus the full on effects of buds. especially at the price point tilray has placed on their shake. but if you rate shake as 9.25/10 I can only guess you would rate real buds as 30/10.
I use MFLB like 20% of the time, but I find vaping to be an inconsistent experience because I never know how much THC I extracted and how much is leftover. Sometimes I'll used already vaporized herb in a bong, and it will still work great! That's why I prefer bongs and joints because you never have to second-guess yourself.
