Tiger bloom causing Foxtailing?

So im on my 2nd grow and again i am encounter foxtailing, late in flowering.

400w hps
3x3x6 tent
1 Random bag seed - 6gal pot FFOF w/ perlite - Scrogged

Im about to be hitting about week 8 of flowering and every bud but a few are beginning to foxtail. it wasnt too bad the past week but today upon opening my tent my main cola was stretching fairly hard of the few tails. Im actually contemplating clipping them.

As said, this is my second grow. On my first grow i started with Botanicare Pro Grow and Bloom, and then switched to Tiger Bloom half way thru, and during my first grow 1 plant of 4 foxtailed pretty bad as well ( also hermied with few nanners but clipped any daily )

Botainare = 2-3-5
Tigerbloom = 2-8-4

I feel as maybe that is too much P this late in flowering and i should of eased up a bit? Feed schedule was every other watering with 3tps/1gal w/ 5ml calmag.

Anyone else encounter this issue while using Tiger Bloom as well? Ive read up on foxtailing and i know it comes down to genetics, heat stress, or ive read possible feeding stress. I just feel like this isnt genetic as its doing the same as my last grow at about the same time. Last time caused me to cut down too early and plants where junk. This plant is still clear to maybe a tad cloudy. so im feeling like im going to need 10-12 weeks and she could tail real hard by then.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Much love!

"1 Random bag seed" Thats the problem. People think that a seed from a good bud will be the same but they forget it was most likely knocked up by the crap male and those seeds only produce crap, problem, Hermite, plants. Your growing may be fine just need to get good stock then see.

true i did think about that but this one hasnt hermied out at all. I do get that it came from one but i still feel like the TB might be causing it as well.

I did a feeding tonite with my botanicare bloom 2-3-5 and i will see if there are any changes over the week. probably the last week of feeding anyway.

I did forget to mention my temps which i know arent a problems. 72-76 lights on and 68 at nite as my room temp is set for that. below 65 she starts purpling.

Stress, heat and even some genetic strains causes the dreaded fox tails . Light stress , humidity swings can also create this condition........ Certain Sativas will foxtail at finish also.

Had a bad situation with 2 plants in a too hot tent. It caused some nanners , so she / he was in week 8 . I use FF but ALWAYS keep feeding to no more than 1/2 strength. It wasn't the tiger bloom. Buds were ok in size considering I cut the bullshit off. Heat is what screwed up my 2 Afgooey.

Details :
The tops got lumpy. :cuss:But ran plants until day 72 ( cut the "tails" ) and harvested to
"Put it out its misery " . Tails are very evident on bud tops and upper sides.

Some nanners showed but clipped them. Temps got stuck at 90° for a day (10 hours ) because a circuit tripped while at work. Heat can cause this issue .

Well I was able to salvage some decent buds ( about 433 grams ) between them but considering what happened It STILL had some decent buds. Curing half for 2 / 3 weeks and the other will stay longer maybe 4/6 too see if it gets any better .

The only FF products I like are ocean forest and big bloom, ocassionaly I'll use beastie bloom/cha Ching, I would go back to botanicare, or give advanced nutrients iguana a try...but the fox tailing is prolly from heat, some sativas tend to do it too

usually not very dense and have less bag appeal, if it's caused by stress and nit genetic hen it will prolly effect yield, which is not good imo but it's not the end of the world

1: It is not what your feeding !
2: From what you list. It is not from heat.

What you have is a phenotype that is a foxtailer.

So whats wrong with that?
Look at my avatar,,,,that is a pheonotype of Pineapple Express that grows with characteristics that are WAY different then the "normal" PE plants. This pheno can produce baseball size buds that foxtail like mad. It grows like a Sativa in shape and in the time in flower. As it takes a whole 2 weeks longer then the "normal" PE pheno's. The foxtails normally reach about 2 inch's. The buzz is much more sativa like and it is one of my patients favorite's (for those who prefer Sativa's). It suffers in no way in the buzz dept and are rock hard and very heavy.

I'll bet you have a Sativa dominate pheno of your strain.....
Grow it out as she is.
Don't trim them off.
Watch the tric's as you would any other for doneness, and harvest at the right time. I would say your guess of 10+ weeks is going to be just about right.

You see, you don't know what it will turn out like. It may just be wonderful!

Foxtails do not mean you did something wrong or the plant is going to be not as good as it's sisters!
Yes, most foxtailing I see around here is generally from Heat being too high. YOURS is NOT...

In my years, I have seen foxtailing pheno's in plenty of strains.....and not very many of them turned out to be less then what they were supposed to be......

Thanks doc! Damn great info!

I did do alot of reading and figured either genetics or feeding issue. I dont really have any issues with it as its all personal product. The only thing that gets me is that it continues to grow those chutes and starts new pistils but they always darken up during drying/cure anyway.

Thanks for the info yal!

great info! greatly appreciated!

I guess i did have a slight humidity issue. for about a week i was having the carbon fan turn off with the light at night and just left the regular circulating fans going, and didnt notice that my humidity was very high with lights off. woke up one morning to 93% so i opener her up and let it air out and kicked it scrubber on. it stays on now and resting at 52%.
