White hairs came twice for me. The two more weeks thing is on average an understatement.

Best to assess the whole structure instead of one part. I say pistil retraction and calyx swell is more important than trich colours.
A ripe bud us a manifestation of several factors. Pistil browning and retraction, calyx swell and trichome colour. If I went by milky trichs, my last few runs would have been harvested four weeks early.

Turns into CBN if left to age. That doesn't negate using multiple parts of a plants anatomy to gauge ripeness though. Thc can degrade on the plant to CBN through exposure to heat and light anyway. That thc is going to turn into CBN once the weed cures and ages anyway, so waiting in it to ripen adequately isn't going to cause any issues. It is an ongoing process that continues as long as there is THC to degrade.

You have weeks before trichomes need to be looked at.. guessing up to 4-5 weeks. You should have some pretty fat nugs if you let the plant do it’s thing. It will let you know when it’s ready. All those white hairs will be dark & curled into the calyx. (That’s where you wanna check the trichomes, not any leaf material)
