but having a mother plant requires some space, time, equipment etc.
You don't have to keep a mom. You can take a cut from a plant in a solo cup, trash that plant, and grow the cut in the next solo cup. Keeping them small and cycling through often is a good way to keep cuts and save space when you don't know when you'll grow something out again. Big moms are ideal for guys doing big runs.

You never change a working system, unless it's really neccessary or more than worth it.
I get my seeds plant 'em and my plants grow. If I like the strain I buy more seeds - plain and simple.
I'm not saying it's the better or the only way. Personally, I just don't see much benefit.

Thank you tho. (:

I prefer seeds over clones too I like the variety you get sure clones are easier to dial in after some monocrops and there more consistent but that's the thing without seeds new clones won't ever be found and also you progress as a grower better with seeds as you will see and experience the good and the bad ones also a little less risky for pests and nasty stuff as well plus i find it is just more fun.

I used to get clones, but many shops here had alot of problems with pests and cared more about the money than their customers so I just went with seeds and never looked back, tbh. The only thing that's a little annoying is when you have a super nice phenotype and out of all our plants only one.

Herers one that started with 3 cotyledons. The only noticeable difference is that only one branch is pushing out 3 leaves at the new growth nodes.

Cloning is a good thing to know....several different methods.....but, in all honesty, unless you've found some incredible phenotype that really ticks all the boxes for what you want, then cloning is just going to keep you swimming in the current mediocrity of modern strains. In my experience, I've never kept any phenotypes going for more than a generation beyond the original -even some really nice ones....Why? Because, by the time I got through smoking a bunch of one strain, I was tired of it....And then I realized I had nothing new to look forward to....just more of the same. And, the phenotypes never start out as being mediocre. They're always intriguing at first...but then the repetition starts to wear on me. I end up wanting something different. That's why I stopped cloning. I'm such a small-time grower, I find that it's more fun to gamble and take a chance on something new each time. BUT....IF "that one" great phenotype were to appear some day..."the skunk' Or, "the blueberry", etc....yeah, THEN I'm going to clone again! :)

What kinda of grow bag set up is that ! I keep seeing people grow get and other things on the surrounding area if the plant in this case it looks like moss. Does this help with bug and mildew control?
