Thoughts on trimming lower buds

I have a white widow from Nirvana about 6 weeks into flower. It's looking great, is covered in trichs, but still has a few weeks to go from what I understand. I used LST for this grow, so I have a nice canopy of bud that bathe in HPS/MH lighting.

Inevitably there are some smaller "popcorn" style buds growing from the bottom. They're a fraction of those on the canopy and I've heard people talk about trimming the lower buds. What are your thoughts on this?

i wouldn't cut it this late...you'll just make it divert energy into repairing the damage instead of to bud production...if you want to lollipop them next time during veg that will divert more energy up to the top, but it will extend your growing period out another weekish, but worth it in the long run

I didn't realize it would be too late to cut. Oh well, I guess I can always cook with the lower buds or something

The lower buds are better than no buds
