BC6AFBEB-9FAB-4BC2-9553-990E4682ED4B.jpeg Going to take a shot at an all organic mix. Not sure if my mix will be up to par. Wondering what some of you think?

Base will be a mix of happy frog and ocean Forrest. Extra perlite and garden lime added.

Dry amendment will be
- Dr. Earth tomato, vegetable and herb (4-7-3)
- Papa’s perfect poop (5-10-2)
- Rhizo force from house and garden (2-1.5-1.5)
- recharge

The Papa’s perfect poop is fossilized sea bird guano mixed with a few different rock dusts.

I would bail on Fox Farm base and just make your own...dont personally like this setup you have here but thats not to say it wont work. IMO you cant beat some compost, worm shit, blood, bone, kelp, azomite, and alfalfa for effectiveness and simplicity

New bags of ffof an HF already have plenty of nutes in them.
Some perlite is fine to add to increase drainage.

Any other fertilizers especially with Nitrogen in them added to a fresh batch of ffof will cause toxicities and will not likely perform as well as the soil would have straight out of the bag.

A soil made from scratch is a time to add amendments.

After a soil has been used it can be amended and usually has nutrients in it so when it is amended it will very likely need much less added than a soil started from scratch.

Good Luck!

Was thinking of only using the Dr. earth as a top dress going to flower...not added to the mix from the start.

I also have a lobster compost from coast of Maine that would be used in the mix and as a top dress going into flower.

I just really wanted to get away from bottled nutes and this is what I have laying around the house. lol

I know it’s lacking big time. I’m going to rethink things.

OK Cool!
If it was me I would use the Dr. Earth tomato, vegetable and herb (4-7-3) after about 4 weeks of water only.

For a 3 gallon pot I'd top dress with about 2 1/2 TBL.
5 gallon would probably be about 4 TBL

I would also add earth worm casting if I had them. Fresh is preferred but if not available I'd use bagged EWC.

Be careful with the poop.

MJ doesn't like to much phosphorus early in flower. To much P will lock out other nutrients.
The plants desire for P goes up after 2 or 3 weeks into flower nearing the end of the stretch.
