Thought it was a mag deficiency but could be....

Hi all,

Having a hard time diagnosing these girls.

It's roughly week 5 of veg hoping to flip next week. I started to notice yellow leaves about 3 weeks ago. Streaking leaves, green veins and leaf started turning yellow. I then started to notice abit of burn on the edges and then clawing on a few leaves here and there.

Today I noticed Abit of blotchy burns on some leaves which has thrown me off.

I'm running Coco Canna Nutrients,
A+B
Rhizotonic
Canazyme
Calmag

Coco, perlite mix

I was using Amino treatment which was sold to me as a silica. This is the first time using silica and thought I'd remove it from the feed as it's the only "new thing" I've added and Ive grown with the above nuts without issues before.

18/6 light cycle
Max temp 26c - 78.8f
Low temp 21c - 69f
Humidity high 80% its only been this high for the past 2 days as it's been raining a tone
Humidity low 60%

EC as of the last 2 weeks 1.3 prior it was 1.5
And was using very little Calmag as the silica was eating up alot of the EC total. Now I've stopped with the silica and am using calmag to harden the water as it comes out at only 0.1ec from the tap.

I was mixing the silica in the wrong order, adding it first as that's what I've read to be the correct way but after reading the bottles instructions it says to mix at the end after everything else. This may have caused a reaction with the calmag leading to a lock out, but I'm not 100% sure ??

So where to go from here, any help would be much appreciated.

Ive let it go from as low as 5.5 then let it swing uptoo 6.3 over the course of 24 hours. Now I'm still letting it swing but it's from 5.7 to about 6.3
Have you checked out the Coco for Cannabis site? They are where I'd be looking if having an issue running Coco. I'd say that the 5.5 was pretty low, I've seen most try to stay 5.8-6.2 but I'm not experienced with it as I do soil and Dr Earth dry amendments for simplicity sake. Hopefully some Coco gurus can chime in for you.

No I haven't, but I'll be sure to have a look. I did have a few people tell me that 5.5 may have been a little too low. Thanks for chiming in I appreciate it.

Plants are lacking mag i think you answered your own ?Drop the silica mix in the cal-mag before adding anything else or mix the cal-mag in a one gallon jug by itself then add to the bigger res- bucket that has other nutes.

Okay, good to know I'm on the right track. Do you think I should wait a little longer before flipping to flower or is a week long enough for them to bounce back

I'd lift a pot out of the tray and run some low ec feed through the top and check the run off.

If its really high then flush and rewater with base nutes and calmag only at 5.8ph

If its not then just cut everything but calmag and base at around 1 2 to 1.3ec total.

Zym is great when reusing coco, not much point If its new.
Rhizo is fine when root systems are undeveloped, a waste when they are.

The girls are just about to goto to sleep for the day but I'll check the run off once they're up and report back.

Ive never reused coco so maybe I could save myself some money and do away with the zym, good info thanks.

So my pH Pen was out, looks like that would be the likely cause of the issues, but after flushing one of the girls with water pH to 6 I've come back to have a look in the trays this morning and found a tone of tiny white bugs most of them sitting in the water but also walking around on the pots.

Any ideas what they could be ? I could try get better pics but it's a mission lol
