Yeh take your time mate longer the better at least you can prepare for any challenge you might also consider blackstar ion8 with UVB on eBay they are around 400w Leeds with 10w White Cree and 8w the rest of the Crees will be buying one or two my self

Before you do...ask about what Cree chipz they are incorporating.....and the bin numbers? if they are using 10w Crees...then they must be XML's (or XM-L2's) driven at 3amp....!

Not a good purchase in my book...

Check the description and yes they are 3amps driven and made in US so I assume that they are proper not Chinese cheap ones

And any LED driven at full capacity is a bad move....dropz the efficiency and lifespan....itz like revving a car to full RPM'z all the time....

Hey @Chronikool can you recommend an entry point on these or. Other forums for understanding LED's better. I have an understanding of wiring DC, calculations etc but the world of chips, performance, cooling, etcetera is a bit baffling.

How would I go ordering a batch like this to play around with:

Start anywhere really....im still really shit at soldering..but my panelz are still working so i must be doing something right...you can get some cheap stars with 3w LED's on them from aliexpress/ebay etc
