I was peacefully watching my ONLY girl over a nice blunt. All of the sudden all this commotion occured. Those cheap fucking 'yo-yo's' that hang your lights gave out and slammed my hps on my girl. Breaking my only bulb. Looks like i'll lose a couple branches and have to flower under Metal halide.

The title says it all brother. That had to suck big time. Did you actully see it happen? I would have shit all over myself.
I use chains to hold my lights. It might be overkill, but I dont care. Hope you come out alright.

I don't have yo yo ones, I got a pair in 1 box that look more like something you would see on a rock climbers belt. Mine basically look like this http://www.hydroponics.net/pi/134823-250.jpg When I went to buy some hangers at my local indoor garden store, they had 2 kinds. The one that failed on you and the ones I got (which if I remember correctly were rated to hold at least 50% more weight).

It could be a good idea to hang up some metal chains with some slack. This way they can save your light from hitting the plants, and have enough room for you to still make some minor adjustments with your other hangers.

wow man, bummer!! Well, like the other guys mentioned, maybe you should switch over to chains. That's what i use as well, and I am very confident that what happened to you will never happen to me... I really feel for you, man.. Like you said, THAT SUCKS!!!!

Also, can't you go buy another HPS light? My local grow store sales them for $26... I'm sure that you can find one for close to that price. Flowering under Metal Halide will work, but you'll be a lot happier if you get another HPS and finish flowering with that spectrum...

i got that big heavy linked plastic yellow chain they sell at home depot. it's light weight, strong, easy to cut and it looks cool. cost pennies compared to most other chain. and you can use nice big hooks. it doesn't hurt your hands trying to make adjustments and it's clean.

BUNGIE CORDS!!!! you can do anything with enough bungie cords!!!! buy a 12 pack from ace hardware for 12 bucks you wont regret it. better than any chains or light hangers or anything that you can think of. cheap and easy to move around

I was sick of my chains cus I didn't have space to raise em anymore and looked around my room - saw some industrial strength plastic zip-ties and tried em out: they work great. And you can cinch them higher so easily

I was litterly smoking a blunt and staring at my girl when it happened. Horrible stuff. I think i said NO like 1000 times before i did anything.
