So let me get this straight... you want to grow 10 plants...
OK....
You should be able to fit in a spot on the floor of this closet, the 1.5' X 3' space... of this closet...

Maybe... at first.... Try growing one plant in that space, and if that goes well.... grow 9 more....

Just know when i grow with those little 23wCFLs i have about 8-10 on each plant, if i hAve 2 side by side i have a total of 15 on top and surrounding them, i grow/stretch to about 2.5 feet and get 2-3 ounces per plant, depending on strain and phenotype. One i just grew was critical plus, super skunk x big bud, i got 3.7 zs off one 2.5 foot plant

I made a big long post then realized he wants to grow 10 plants under CFLs. You need to do a lot more reading. 4 plants would be the absolute max I would ever run under CFLs and you would need 20+ bulbs probably to achieve that.

Read every sticky in every section of this forum. You will want to look into a HPS/LED set up.

Hiya valleyboi, Hope all goes well..It's not just about Light(Lumens) each plant needs to breathe and needs space to grow..even Autos will fill out..I admire your ambition!! in that kinda space I would think you are better with 1 maybe 2 ladies..

1) if you can get a 125-250 Giant CFL would be better + could also use lower watts as side lights
2) you could try Vertical Grow? Split levels each level have about 2.5' height space
3) paint matt white or Mylar/Panda Film
4) Top/ F.I.M. LST Ladies - all types of training..loads more Info about this around

and don't forget Fans...you need to move some air about in cupboard..best small fans I've seen are about a fiver on Fleabay>> the metal USB kind not the cheap looking plastic jobs..but you will also need a USB to Mains adaptor..about £2. Remember when lights are on Temps will raise so you need the door open a little bit or drill some kinda Exhaust hole at top and back of cupboard for Hot/Stale air to vent.

Hope is of some help..

Peace

Also Soil/compost is best way to learn IMHO try a FoxFarms or BioBizz mix...plus plenty of perlite

Peaace.....SToned again :eyesmoke:

Some Growers use multiple lower Watt(23w-30w) bulbs...I say multiple I mean SHED LOAD!! To great effect..
I have used(and I'am still using/in small Flower Cab) a 200w Giant Dual CFL(IMO Dual was a mistake) but I'm waffling....

A 200w CFL kicks out about 8000 - 1200 Lumens.. I think(could be wrong) I think that you need about 5000L for proper growth...More Lumens = Quicker/Stronger/better Growth(think I'm right on this) if you hang the 200w bulb so its Vertical with or without a reflector then you've got like 360 light spread(the dead spot being directly under the Bulb) but I would also have a couple of lower watts at the top(I Had 4x 30w)

A 250w Hps kicks out about 21000L for the Veg Bulb and 32000L for the Flowering Bulb

All this depends on the Brand of the Bulb, some are better than others...but with more Bulbs comes more Heat...

And CFL less heat but need to be close to Ladies - 2-3" from plant and with Hps 12" from plant and a lot more cooling+ Exhaust system is a must
Peace

Clear?? A True 200w CFL be good way to start? but only if you limited on space and heat is a issue with Hps for you..
I did my first grow under 200w Dual CFL 4x bagseed and pulled 4oz dry...not a lot by some peeps standards..but I was happy enough for First time...well was more than happy was stoned 2 :bigjoint:

I recycle my Soil/compost mix so can't really say, but I only use Organic Ferts(BioBizz) and plenty of Perlite and Clay Pebbles

Peace

If you are unwilling to dedicate time to read a few things about soil and lighting how do you expect to have the dedication to finish a grow.

I was reading posts and books and watching youtube videos for a year before I even made an account here. Not saying you have to do the same, but at least have the respect for the community to not ask the same questions answered in the most basic of basic "how to grow" threads books or videos.

One thing to remember about CFL's is that they have a poor power factor and poor power efficient drivers.

Say you have a 1000w HPS, 400 watts of the power are going to PAR [the light spectrums your plant will ACTUALLY use] and 600 watts is going to heat [IR] They are about 40% efficient overall, the HPS and a CFL is worse. Something to keep in mind.

Lumens is strictly an indicator of how well the Human eye sees light in correspondence to a measuring stick @ 555nm. By itself it is useless as an indicator of what the plant is going to uptake and what spectrums are being put out the most efficiently by any light source.
umol's and PAR ratings in combination will start making more sense. blue wavelenghts are shorter and use less energy per photon and red wavelenghts are longer using and providing more energy per photon.

--------------Really want to get to the nitty gritty --------------------

I use LED bulbs [Cree 2700k's and Phillips 3000k 10 watts] In this thread [NOT MINE] he measured these bulbs @ at max of 300+ umols @12" distance, again using 10 watts. The 2700 26 watt Cfl's measured about 135+ umols at the same 12 inches of distance.
Pretty big discrepancy
