Well than everything is alright with the U.S.A, we still speak english, whew I was worried there for a minute. So when they institute another language, than it's time to worry?
The best way to improve our education system, many would postulate, is to become a bilingual nation. Our students should be learning another language from the cradle on. No question about it, in my mind.

I returned from Belgium two weeks ago and was amazed by their education system. By the time their students graduate from high school, they are at least trilingual (most speak 4 languages). They've studied economics extensively and have a solid grounding in both ancient and modern history. At the top tiered Belgian schools, they learn Belgian, French, Latin, Greek, and English and are expected to fluent in all five before they graduate. That's education my man!

Yes, they are educated, but live in a system which is not upwardly mobile. We live in a upwardly mobile society and our education is FUBAR.

That's irony...

Europe doesn't do innovation.....one of the prices of mediocrity. everyone gets to be equally
But Europe has survived for thousands of years now. How old is America?

Hmmm............maybe the Europeans are on to something. Maybe long-term sustainability requires compromise.

And those compromises are?

1. Economic slavery?

2. A counterfeit monetary system?

3. A citizenry that is totally dependent upon government?

4. A welfare state, entitlement mentality?

5. A 25% unemployment rate as enjoyed in France?

6. A taxation rate that stifles innovation, free markets, liberty and freedom?

7. A loss of national sovereignty?

If sustainability is dependent upon it, then yeah. I spend a lot of time in Europe and the people seem to love their lives and circumstances. They are happy, well-balanced people (in my experience). Go to Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, etc........ and see what you think. Get direct experience instead of opinion. They are happy people and the equality in many of these countries is something to be admired.

I also spend a lot of time in Europe and everyone wants to come to America.....
Well, I always come back - maybe that says something:mrgreen:.

We talk about leaving for good, but it hasn't happened. And now that Obama is president, it lends even more reason to stay. Who wouldn't want the pride of knowing that they were an American under the BEST president ever:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:.

i can go to ittaly in 3 semesters, but the thing is, i dont want to come bach here ever. i want to immigrate somewhere lol
Emigrate not immigrate, though I hear you, but fuck Western Europe, I'm looking at either the BRIC nations or Eastern Europe. I might go to Western Europe for vacation, but that's it, they already have the kind of all-controlling nanny-states that the imbeciles Bush and Obama were setting up here.

Where do you mean in Western Europe?

To this day, I'm fascinated by the variety and differences between smaller European countries. Non-EU countries, especially. My favorite part of the year is when I get to roam around in Europe.

Italy, or maybe Greece/Macedonia, for vacation. I wouldn't want to go into France, except maybe to see ruins from the Roman Empire. Lots of history in Europe...

I love to go back too. Europe is a great place to visit. It's just not a place to get ahead, unless you are born into it. In many ways Europe still runs a caste system.

The best Roman ruins (aside from Rome and Florence) are in Bulgaria. I shit you not - Bulgaria. And Sophia is beautiful!

If you go to Greece, hit up Delphi and see the oracle of Apollo. Amazing.

I was thinking more the Parthenon. Though I really want to go see the Colliseum in person. Of course, I'll probably be wondering if there isn't some way to institute something like that here, except with politicians instead of prisoners/slaves.

I've been to over a dozen countries in Europe but have always had the best times in Spain and Portugal. I just like the attitude.
