yes it is..... I paid 250 for a new 400W setup. so 50 for a used 250W setup is not bad at all.....

Buy it definitely, but buy an extra bulb just in case the current bulb it has in it is old.

Check Craigslist, (farm/garden section) thats where I found it. There's always lights and complete systems on there. Funny thing is I don't have room for it, but fuck it! I couldn't pass it by.

Yeah I am all over craigslist every day, but not too many great deals out here. I can do better if I want to drive to LA, but I don't so I am waiting for something good to come up here in the IE.

yes thats a really good deal.
for my full 400w MH setup i paid $250 brand new.
so certainly used $50 is a great deal. he could probably get at least $100 for it but hey dont tell him that ;)

and of course find out how old the bulb is in it. and how many hours it has been used and look at it to make sure theres no cracks ect. if it hasnt had too much use its probably okay to keep using it, but I would say buying a new one is a worthy investment if you can afford it. I think they are typically about $50 for the bulb depending on the watts. at least thats what it is in my area. im sure its different everywhere.

I hear you. I get all my 400w bulbs for free from a cousin that works at a light store. But they don't have the 1000w bulbs I use so I got to spring for those. I know, I know poor me.:peace::joint::peace:
