As a member here i find it is in my interest to encourage the good anddeter the lame.
Hence i come here with a message that you allshould consider.

GET LINUX

1 FREE SOFTWARE - FREE UPDATES

Everything is free, not only money free but free in the sense of digital rights managements. This is part of the GNU project and these guys really want a world where information is free.
Remember when internet used to be a free place?
2 FORGET ABOUT VIRUSES

Most viruses are taylor made for Windows. plus windows and mac have it in their core a way to hide stuff from you. They want certain programs to stay regardless of your opinion. Viruses and other annoying programs use this to nag the hell out of you until you cry.
Im not gonna lie there are viruses that could affect Linux but they are so few and far in between, plus Linux uses your password so that every file writen into the system must be coming from you, not remotely.

3 NO ADS, POP UPS, REQUIREMENTS or REGISTRATIONS

Ubuntu (one of Linux widely used OS) comes with a huge pack of programs at no cost that otherwise for other operating system would cost you considerable time and money to acquire. It comes with a free version of Office fully compatible. Any program you could need.

4 YOU ARE NOT A CUSTOMER, YOU ARE A PERSON

Linuxdistributions are the best supported. No calls to foreign countries.No idiotesque "HELP" programs or follow the loop to aheadache webpages. Just ask the people.
Linux has grown thanks toits users, thousands of people helping each other, interested in acommunity that promotes freedom in hopes of an end to corporatebullying and digital rights management (heard about SOPA and PIPAright?)

5 RELIABILITY

Windows and Mac's are made so that you can't change its core. its hidden. literally it is "humanly unreadable", encrypted. This systems are perfect for viruses and spam crap because it is within the structure to hide stuff from you. Plus, encrypting the files and all the remote check run without you knowing; all that makes your computer slow and buggy.

this isnt some malware shit is it? fantapper got installed and uninstalled and now i cant get it out. i need a reliable virus killer and malware destroyer. you say its free but how well does this end up protecting your computer?

Linux is an operating system(Like Windows)...you install it on your computer INSTEAD of windows...so no more Microsoft software when you run Linux(unless you try to use Microsoft or other windows products under Wine(Windows Emulator)).

i do all my work and stuff through linux

plus linux is a great way to learn command line

windows users can either use a live cd to try linux, or run a Virtual Machine to install and test linux. I hear good things about linux mint. I like VM because I can install multiple os systems with out doing any damage, I also use it to test files from questionable sources.

I have ubunut on one partition and win 7 on the other. I never use ubuntu. For me it pretty much offers nothing that would justify me using it over windows. Both are free, both function as required, except windows has the ability to play any game i fancy. Not gonna faff around restarting a computer and booting into an operating system just to play a quick 15 minutes of something.

lol linux is a fuckin joke to those who have very simplistic uses for their computers, and want them to just /work/. I've found all versions of ubuntu to be very chunked together compared to mac os x (I got my macbook for free before you call me some apple fanboy that pays 2grand for shit. a used macbook from 06 is better than any ubuntu install IMO.

linux will seem like chunked together shit if you dont have good understanding

linux isnt for having the user freindly ability

i run red hat in command line mode

id love to see you have fun with that

the user interface is something that has evolved to cripple people into thinking anything with out a user interface or a user freindly interface to be shitty

i ll say this though

mac had to go through how many OS's to figure out that UNIX is a good system

mac is for people that have NO computer knowledge

linux is for people with computer knowledge

and windows is kinda in the middle

I'll have you know that I have an utter shitload of computer knowledge and can fix just about any computer. I just prefer macs for everything else besides gaming. how hard is that to understand? they designed their interfaces better than anyone else, its actually MORE ENJOYABLE to work on a mac than any other computer I've used.

so you can write a nice fancy sounding speech for thatbut that doesn't change the fact that this works loads better for me and I have lots of computer experience to back it up.

lol, just because it works better for you, doesn't mean it's better, the beauty of an opinion, mine or yours.. As far as interfaces go, Linux literally has hundreds that can be as minimalistic or as clunky as you want.

see now this is what i mean it works for him because it works for him

my pc can do the same thing and i don't have to worry about if my mac is compatible with this game i wanna play

the only thing mac can do REALLY well over windows and Linux

is this

create a user interface that ANYONE can use

this doesn't appeal to me as its not a necessity

for others its DIRE

Macs have great design and performance. true.
But you are just paying not to use windows. if windows wasnt so bad apple wouldn't be so expensive. true
