well meaning friends are telling me to thin the leaves out and leave only the buds. Is that right? I read here that you're not sposed to do that. I have 1 awesome outdoor plant pushing 8 ft and loaded with buds. They're pretty green tho my friend says the ends are starting to get red. Very few maybe..
I don't really see it. How much longer till harvest do you think?

1. People who smoke weed talk to much, talk out their ass, and give advice when they really should just say "I don't know".

2. I would love to see a picture of your 8 foot monster : )

3. Welcome to the boards.. I love seeing new NAMES around these parts..

4. If the leaves are DEAD you can remove them... if not DEAD, do not remove.

cheers

Agree with the above. If the leaves are okay leave them alone. Then you mess with the plant you cause it stress.

When you say the ends are getting red. Do you mean the hairs that are located towards the tips of the plants?

right, I'm aware of the need for photosynthesis, but I keep hearing that I should pull the little leaves interspersed with the buds so that there's just buds on the branches. The bigger leaves are farther back. Is that normal? Most of the hairs coming out of the buds are still white, tho FINALLY I see some starting to turn reddish. This thing happened to come up right in front of a snail vine I had planted in the middle of a round, steel garden structure so I've been using the vine to provide camo and entertwining it thru the weed branches. I'm next to computer illeterate and have no idea how to post a picture but I would sure love for you all to see it. Since this is the first one I've ever seen I'm not sure how to judge it. I've taken pix with my cell phone and then sent the pix to my email. Any way I can forward it to this site somehow??? The modern world is just too complicated these days. But thank God I figured out how to use the DVR.

I'm about as computer savvy as you are, so I can't be any help there.

I think you are talking about pruning. I posted as similar thread to this a while ago but found that nobody has any experience of this on this site. You do it a few days before harvest, basically you manicure the bud, trimming all those smaller leaves and tiny bits of bud (which you collect and make into resin of course!) until you are happy with how the buds look. I'm on my first crop too, well sort of second now as I've got the clones flowering too. A couple of those are only 2" high, lol. So this is going to by first time manicuring too. How long you got left to flower? My first crop will be up for harvest in 3 weeks/

I wish I knew how much longer! I'm gettin more paranoid by the day.
It does look like more of the tips of the hairs are turning red, so I guess it shouldn't be long. Do you know how long it takes once they start turning??
I tried to measure mine with a tape measure today. From the ground to the top of my dining room window is 7 1/2 feet, and the weed is a good six to eight inches past that. It looks like a Christmas tree!! Are you skilled in the drying process? Just hang 'em upside down or what?

If they are starting to turn red I would say 3 more weeks. When they are 75% red then you will be ready.
