Were's the best place to put my thermo in my grow tent as the readings seem to read different were ever i put it, at first i had next to my pots and under the lights but sum1 told me that the readings will be off cause it could be detecting heat higher up than canopy level so i moved into a nice shaded corner and now the temps r perfect but now am worried it might not be what it says

I'd have thought that it would make most sense to place it near the plants. I say I'd have thought, I honestly don't know, I binned my thermometer a day or two after buying it.

At the end of the day, just like with PPM, you need to learn that these numbers are not all-important. Learn to read the plants, not the meter.

Yh im just figuring out how many lights i can put in. I mean when i have all 3x600 w on the temps rockets to 92f but the air flow is amazing and ive lied under them and to me they dont feel to hot but then again i want the perfect bud so i hear the perfect temps are the way foward. Now im at the begining of my grow so i have no canopy to shade it.

Mine goes about 6" above the canopy and I have never had a issue. I tie some string just one piece from one pole to the pole on the other side of the tent then tape my meter end piece to the string. I do it this way because any thing under my meter reader will be cooler since its 6" above my canopy.

i have the cheap $8 ebay ones. I have about 3-4 of them they all work great just as good as the pricey ones. I use this kind because it has the wire end and I can put that any where without having to put the actual meter with it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-LCD-Indoor-Outdoor-Thermometer-Hygrometer-Temperature-Humidity-Meter-/400482967021?pt=US_Weather_Meters&hash=item5d3ea51ded
